Re: Frozen Infotainment Screen

My infotainment system doesn't freeze but it has rebooted a couple of times. I can be driving along and it just goes black. After 30 seconds or so it restarts and I get the Welcome to VW screen. Annoying but not too much of a problem.

Re: Regenerative Breaking

I think that the way you drive is the most significant factor in energy efficiency. The car whose driver has a heavy right foot (hard acceleration, hard braking) is going to have much greater energy usage than the light-footed driver who accelerates slowly, is thinking ahead all the time, lets the v...

Great find. Thanks scott28tt.

I see that ACC means acceleration rather than adaptive cruise control. :?

Re: Incorrect Speed Exceeded notifications

Does anyone know if the other mph/kph confusion issue is still there in 0783? The one where using the ACC when leaving a 30mph zone into a 40mph zone, the car slows down to 25mph (40kph). It was intermittent when my car was on 0563 and I haven't driven it enough since the upgrade to know whether thi...

Re: I'm a bit worried about the range

If you look at the blue and green lines on the driver display, you will see when you first get in, they are a lot shorter than when the batteries are warm. you can tell when the batteries are warm enough when these two lines are back to full length. The car is restricting acceleration hence blue li...

Re: refund to Ist edition owners of £500

The only one anywhere close to me is on a stretch of the M25 I might use once every 4-5 years, but I'm using a local Osprey point and have already burned through more the £100 of my credit - where are you located? North-west Herefordshire. Worcester is my nearest Osprey, 41 miles away. Is that Meer...

Re: refund to Ist edition owners of £500

IONITY Engie (was Chargepoint) New Motion Osprey (was Engenie) Elmtronics Ltd ESB Group Alfa Power Many thanks for the list. I've created a Zap-Map filter containing just these networks. The tiny green dots in the We Connect ID app are just too indistinct and makes its map unusable. Now my nearest ...

Re: refund to Ist edition owners of £500

I bought my 1st Edition in October and raised numerous issues with VW UK. It wasn't a formal complaint but I did list about a dozen faults, stated that I felt it was beta software, said that my nearest Ionity charger is 128 miles away so I probably won't be using the £500 of 'free' charging, and sai...

Not sure why this isn't made clearer to the driver. I'm sure most drivers would like to know when the battery heating system is in use.

Re: Type 1 charging unit adapter cable availability

Is this https://evonestop.co.uk/products/type-1 ... mp-1-metre what you’re looking for?

Alternatively find a competent electrician to replace the type 1 connector with a type 2 connector, available from the same store.

Re: Alarm goes off at random

Sty-evs thank you for your comments. Unfortunately it is key less but the fob etc is stored in an Rfid wallett away from the car. I have a conference call with local dealer management tomorrow and will raise the sensitivity issue. I looked at disabling the interior monitoring sustem but understand ...

Re: Was 0564 the first public software version?

I knew more than my dealer about the specifics of the software based on my own research, but he still knew it was incomplete (this was in early October) and was open about that - he and I had a conversation about CarPlay not being available at the time. This was exactly my experience too. Same mont...

I have reported this to my dealer as an outstanding fault following the 2.0 upgrade, and also my customer care representative at VW UK.

Re: How cold weather affects EV batteries

I missed this, but would be interested to hear if there were any juicy tidbits? Would be interesting to compare to my own experiences and maybe pick up a tip or two. I live in Sweden, park my ID3 outside and I have still managed to get very good range with mine. Last week has ranged from -3 to -16,...

Re: Would you do it again?

As a counter to the above view on the 1st Edition..... Don’t get me wrong – I think it’s a really great car too. I love the features of the 1st Edition although I do wonder why the U.K. version is missing some of the other features that I hear our European neighbours got such as wireless phone char...

Re: Would you do it again?

I wouldn't do it again with the 1st Edition as I'm not sure it was good value for money. We have definitely been beta testers. But with the range now available and with V2.0 (0783) software and above, I would definitely buy it now. I test drove the i3 for 24 hours about a year ago and I would say th...

How cold weather affects EV batteries

In tomorrow's EV Cafe, Euan McTurk (electric vehicle battery electrochemist) will be talking about how cold weather affects EV batteries. It is a zoom webinar on 20th January from 12pm to 2pm. I have no affiliation with this but thought that some of this forum's members would be interested as there ...
