Re: OUR Real World Range

Dave, agree with you completely on the objective of minimizing heater (and for that matter A/C) use. My difficulty is the climate requirement voice demands emanating from the front passenger seat with are required to be translated into action by the driver's figures!! (Just as well on Life Pro, as y...

Re: OUR Real World Range

I conducted a couple of Range tests on recent trips. My Car is a Life Pro with heatpump, running 0783 software. Having covered over 1,000 miles all running gear should have lost any initial 'newness'. All driving is in 'D'/Eco/without ACC. Day 1 Fully charged to 100% immediately before trip interior...

Re: OUR Real World Range

I'm Planning two work trips in the next few days a 90 mile round trip followed by 250 mile round trip the next day (hoping the charge points are functioning!). I'll record the data and feedback.

Re: WeConnect app

I've never managed to get the App to tell me where the car is, it does tell me where my phone is though!!
This is one of the points I'm waiting to sort out with the dealer.

Re: Cheers from Life

Looking at a Family in the dealer show room it looks as though a side rails and floor itself should be retrofitable to models without it. there will be a compromise about access to the rear lower storage box, but that will be overcomeable. The dealer couldn't find the part numbers on their system! _...

Re: Kwh/100km

On Wednesday when the temperature was >12degc, I did 40 miles mixed driving at 3.9 m/kWhr (15.9kWh/100km).
So much better than cold weather 2.5-2.7 m/kWhr!

Re: Quality of the sound system?

I pointed out to my dealer that my daughter's 11 year old Skoda Fabia estate has manual rear windows and 'key in lock' central locking, but it does have rear speakers.!!. I suggested that I maybe should have waited for the Skoda version of ID3... he was visibly embarrassed by have no answer!!

Re: I'm a bit worried about the range

Just a thought to ponder when we are considering range:- > 60kWhr is equivalent to the available energy from a modern ICE burning c.15ltr of Petrol. > 15ltr will give you c. 200 miles range at 60mpg, or 132 miles at 40 mpg - roughly the upper and lower ends of our real world ID3 ranges. > Our cars a...

Re: LHD Wipers Fitted to RHD Car

Hi Simon This is exactly the Mercedes set up, and has been for over 15 years with the same shortcomings. My thinking is that there are so many things that can fixed on the car, we need to choose our battles, and let the ones lie where there is precedence for market acceptability, even though it is c...

Re: LHD Wipers Fitted to RHD Car

I fear this is one aspect of the car there is no mileage in complaining about. I was looking at some Mercedes Vito's yesterday, both the old and current models have the same set up as the ID3, ie a single configuration, optimised for LHD but considered 'good enough' for RHD. At least VW are still su...

Re: Would you do it again?

I would absolutely do it again. I have been planning for a while that when the time came I'd buy an EV as my first new car. I wasn't thinking the time had come when I walked into my VW dealer in December to see the ID3, but financially the deals that were available at the end of the year were unbeli...

Re: ID3 Home Charging

[/quote] Also the ID.3 only has an 11kW transformer so theoretically would only charge at 11kW even with a 22kW charging unit. Maximum appears to be 7.2kW with Podpoint units accounting to Podpoint ID.3 page . I am not sure why it wouldn't get 11kW as stated on Volkswagen 12 facts about the ID.3 . [...

Re: Stationary Aircon (heat) only functions when charging

Hi Simon Having 'fiddled' further, I found 12v battery was ok, and didn't make any difference. Found Stat heating will work (Through App or in car 'switching') if the charge lead is plugged in even if not drawing charge at the time the heating is activated. My dealer now tells me it is only designed...
