Re: ID3 servicing.......... simply explained
Problem is (and its a problem for ALL legacy manufacturers and their customers) that the dealers and thus servicers are not directly under VW (or other mfr) control.. So you can easily get a good one and a bad one a few miles apart.. Saw a couple of articles flagged on speakEV last week where legacy...

Re: 12V socket in the boot
I believe you can move one of the fuses and it makes the boot 12v be on permanently. Was on the Facebook Id group and there are a couple of YouTube vids about it I think…

Re: Electric Drive Not Working Correctly Error
Call up VW assist and they should arrange a hire car for you. Esp if it’s been ‘recovered’ to a dealer.

Re: Bye bye ID
Interestingly I was rung by the selling dealer to see if I was interested in trading mine in for a new one. I’m not - but I wonder if they’re having some problems shifting them at the moment. Or if there’s a sales target deadline coming up…

Preheat battery button / option.
No need for the en route to charger pre heating - just give us a button/switch on the screen.

Re: Tronity subscription - or not?
I switched to EEVEE
It seems to do everything Tronity does but much better. And it’s free.
I recommend it.

Re: Which charger?
I have a smart charger from the days before intelligent octopus. Now it’s pretty much used as a dumb charger socket. I’d be tempted just to get a simple socket/dumb charger if you can find one!

Re: Travel Assist after 3.2 update
Yes it’s simpler on 3.2. TA is automatically engaged when you press set or resume (res) if you had it on previously. If you want TA off you press the TA button.
It removes one button press (having to press set then TA). Btw - TA seems noticeably better on 3.2. Less jerky - much better in sidewinds.

Re: 2023/24 INSURANCE RENEWAL PRICES
Mines gone up 50% (renewed in July).
All insurance has gone up (inflation in all aspects of car repairs). Also some rumours that the high cost of EV repairs (esp Tesla’s?) has driven up EV quotes. But I’ve no hard evidence.

Re: Newbie cold weather questions!
A different (but complimentary explanation) the app screen STILL sometimes thinks the output from the car is in km and converts it to miles (divided by 1.6) so I suspect if you get in the car you’ll have 180 or so miles of range.

Phone up VW assist and see if they can find you an earlier appointment at a different centre. 6 months without a car or with a malfunctioning car is clearly not on.

Re: Real fuel economy (1 whole year)
@sidehaas - yes part of the issue is there is little or no traffic on the peage!
So you can have a high average speed (and not much slipstreaming!) unlike most UK motorways!!

Re: Real fuel economy (1 whole year)
Think it depends on your usage/type of driving. I'm about 50% motorways and my Summer (late april to mid oct) average was 4. For context - Manchester > Sheffield > south of Paris and back (1100miles) a couple of weeks ago was 3.5 in good temps (65mph ish UK and 120kph on the Autoroutes - OK the odd ...

Re: MOT advisory
I think D mode does use the brakes a little more than B - as every now and then (often at roundabouts) it seems to get a bit confused and I end up doing some actual braking (as in no regen indicated) obvs this doesn’t happen in B. Though I seem to remember @monkeyhanger saying on ICE vw’s it auto ap...

Yes. Search the forum (using the forum search ) there’s a thread about if from c. 2 years ago. Seems quite easy and worthwhile from memory.
