Re: We Charge Go
If the M1 is busy/blocked the InstaVolts (8) at Banbury provide a M40 option.

Re: ABRP and EVnotify via OBDii - confirmed working
I use the carscanner app. Links directly to the OBD dongle and let’s you see loads of data.
Word of warning - sometimes (not always) if I leave the dongle plugged in it sets off my alarn when locked.

Re: 80% battery charge vs full charge
Will your Tesla actually do 340 miles on that 100% charge at the moment? Or does it drop to 300 or 280 or lower once you start a journey? The Vw sets the GOM mileage on the rate of consumption on your last drive. So if it’s winter - short journeys - and/or a heavy right foot that will be low - below...

Looks like the ‘stencil’ the light shines through is faulty.. some extra holes in it.

Re: Bike Prep?
Actually having looked at the price of the bits - there’s a control box and the bar - and the number plate flappy stuff - £600 for the parts and a couple of hundred to fit isn’t too bad. As someone said above - not that much more than getting one fitted on a similar car.

Maybe ask them if they could fit it for £600?

Re: ABRP and EVnotify via OBDii - confirmed working
It’s a real shame Vw can’t get the predicted SOC at destination up on the nav page - as this is the most useful feature of the integration in ABRP for me…

Yes the 30p standard rate is (I’d guess) their forecast of what the price capped rate will be in April. Widely rumoured to be a 50% increase in 20ish p.

Re: Bike Prep?
The roof is perfectly capable of taking roof bars - there are even marks to locate them. The car has a 5* NCAP rating - the roof abs it’s structure are plenty strong enough. Quite why Vw don’t sell some is a puzzle - some suggest it’s so it doesn’t kill the aero - but if that’s the case not sure why...

Re: ABRP and EVnotify via OBDii - confirmed working
No need for EVnotify now as ABRP will link direct to your BLE dongle. Works perfectly.
Still don’t really like ABRP (sorry - know it has a lot of fans)

It’s based on the OBD data. Doesn’t seem to be temp related. It’s steadily and slowly dropped.

Re: ID3 range-ometer just cannot be believed
Looking at the output graphs from the charger - and what the car is charging (from Tronity) that is unfortunately not what is happening Dave... its using some juice to run the heaters/ac rather than preheat the battery. The battery heater takes a large (6-7kw) chunk of energy - and on both graphs th...

Re: Battery degradation data point
Mine has dropped from 55950 Wh to 55300 in three months and 4500 miles (I have a couple of readings in between the first and last which follow this trend). Unfortunately I only have a first reading from early Nov - not from July when I bought it. FWIW I mostly charge between 20 and 80% (once to 100 ...

Re: How to get a deal for an EV Home Charger. My method!
From my understanding of the process - becoming an approved installer costs money (training) and filling in the requisite paperwork for the grant which involves dealing with both the government and the DNO takes a while and can bring up hurdles. And if for some reason there is a problem (as there wa...

Re: 80% battery charge vs full charge
No need to charge to 100% to balance the cells. The id3 battery management takes care of that. Besides - you can only ever charge to 95% of actual battery capacity (it’s a 62kwh pack with a usable 57/58. In the OBD data you can see the calculated battery capacity as well as how many kWh the battery ...

For my tailgate there were two plastic/rubber bump stops on either side of the lid - these screw in/out. A couple of tweaks of these sorted out the boot for me.
