@sidehaas - yes part of the issue is there is little or no traffic on the peage!
So you can have a high average speed (and not much slipstreaming!) unlike most UK motorways!!

Re: Real fuel economy (1 whole year)
Think it depends on your usage/type of driving. I'm about 50% motorways and my Summer (late april to mid oct) average was 4. For context - Manchester > Sheffield > south of Paris and back (1100miles) a couple of weeks ago was 3.5 in good temps (65mph ish UK and 120kph on the Autoroutes - OK the odd ...

Re: MOT advisory
I think D mode does use the brakes a little more than B - as every now and then (often at roundabouts) it seems to get a bit confused and I end up doing some actual braking (as in no regen indicated) obvs this doesn’t happen in B. Though I seem to remember @monkeyhanger saying on ICE vw’s it auto ap...

Yeah - big thumbs up for Tesla from me.
Nearly always the cheapest and had my fastest charges at Superchargers (Tesla’s are 400v EV’s so when their chargers say they do 150 or 250kw they really do…

Yes. Search the forum (using the forum search ) there’s a thread about if from c. 2 years ago. Seems quite easy and worthwhile from memory.

Having lived with it for over 2 years - I wouldn't miss it! Passengers (back seat drivers) seem to be interested in it but not me.

Similar - I’ve forgotten now but at least 2-3% a day (which is about 1kwh)

Driving in France VW Assist
Off to France on Sunday for a week - and have my Crit air sticker and a couple of charger network cards that should work. Quick Q: am I right to assume that VW Assist works across Europe so if I have a puncture or something stops working I give them a bell and that process begins?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Yeah - from what I can tell the new battery fitted for the 2.4 update failed (and its not the only one I've heard of doing so..).

Re: Is charging slower with V3.2?
I’ve yet to see more than 125 on my Tour (on 3.2) but the car is likely built in late 21 (despite 22 plate) so older hardware than the latest etc.. But the id3 charging software does seem quite sensitive to the SOC when the charge starts. It’s ver rare (if ever) to see the charging rate rise when th...

Never ever trust BP chargers. If they work at all they often work below spec. Near the bottom of my networks

Re: Software bugs - V3.5
Couple of things to speed up infotainment boot up. 1. NEVER have the ID maps/nav as one of your tiles/widgets... this seems to take a while to boot up compared to everything else. Since I took this off, its miles faster. Might just be me but worth a try. 2. Unlocking the car starts the boot process ...

Re: "fuel" costs in 8 months ownership
I worked out that I spend roughly a quarter to a third of the ICE costs for fuel.
£500 compared to £1500-2000 a year.

Re: Dead ID3
From my (3) times dealing with VW assist - I take a quite hardball line and if the car is saying take it to a workshop then its clearly not fit to drive. The car also gives 'keep an eye on this' type errors and the workshop one is the next level up. When mine worked but the displays all went (shortl...

Re: Dead ID3
Call Vw assist. They’ll tow the car to a dealer and the dealer should triage what is wrong with it (ie actually look at it) within 48 hours.
I had my car die due to 12v issues (killed the battery).
Vw assist will also arrange for a hire car for your whilst yours is out of action
