Re: ID3 Home Charging
Does anyone have experience with the myenergy Zappi charger - I am trying to figure out if I can use the timer on it. The Zappi should work fine with the ID.3. Mine does. I haven't yet tried using the Zappi timer. Others have reported that with the current software level the ID.3 has an annoying ha...

Re: Cheers!
Hi Heidi My life model has the USB-c in both locations. But good to know the rear ones are for power only, hadn't realised this. Thanks Thanks. I wonder where I got the idea the Life model didn't have the USB connectors on the back. Maybe it's the base model with the smaller battery that's not yet ...

Re: Lights issue.
That's a new one on me. There is a 'daylight sensor' on the windscreen near the interior mirror. I think if that is blocked, the car will think it's always night-time and will turn on the headlights if you have them set to AUTO. Could yours be blocked, perhaps?

Re: Cheers!
I think maybe the Life model only has the USB-C sockets in the compartment between the front seats. The two for the rear seat passengers (which are for charging only - not data transfer) are only on the more expensive models.

Re: Changing to Alloys
Personally I quite like the look of the steel wheels. But then I like the terracotta dashboard option...
I have the 19" alloys, and I've managed to kerb one of mine already, slightly. It was rather easy...

Osprey Chargepoint
I've mentioned this in an earlier thread, here is an update: There is an Osprey chargepoint in the car park of a pub/restaurant local to me and I've been charging my car there using my WeCharge card, because of the £500 credit on the card (my car is a 1st Edition). I noticed early on that the Charge...

Re: What did you get with your car?
Hi, just joined the forum. I picked my ID.3 up on 19th December, the Life model and I received the box with the socks, We Charge card, cloth for cleaning the Infotainment screen, etc. I also managed to get the Granny charge cable thrown in for good measure. Hi Kaygee, I'd be interested to know if y...

Re: What did you get with your car?
I almost forgot — I also get the first two services free of charge covered by Volkswagen UK. My understanding is the servicing is one very 2 years. I got a service plan for 2 services included at no cost with my PCP deal. I've been told the first service is due at 2 years, but thereafter there's a ...

Re: What did you get with your car?
That said, my car did include a warning triangle & first aid kit, standard in the EU, which the salesman said are not part of the UK offer! Hmm, not sure about that. Has anyone here not got the warning triangle and first aid kit? It seems unlikely that UK spec doesn't include it, that sounds li...

Re: What did you get with your car?
I got the ID box (socks etc as above) with my 1st - the dealer also gave me a VW branded pen and brolly. I would have liked a brolly. I used to keep an umbrella in the special door compartment on my old Passat, but when I scrapped it, I forgot to remove the brolly. I've now bought another one to ke...

Re: What did you get with your car?
Mine was a 1st Edition, so I guess so. Sorry you didn't get anything, even such an off-the-wall collection as I got!OllyExeterID3 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 12:59 pm Hi,
Unfortunately I didn't get anything with mine It wasn't a 1st Edition but I was expecting a little something. I assume the goodies/freebies only came with 1st Editions?

What did you get with your car?
I haven't noticed any mention of freebies on these forums, but I'm assuming that others received a goody-box like I did? On handover I was given a nice white cardboard box like a chocolate box. Inside was my We Charge card, and also some surprising random gifts including these socks: PXL_20210111_09...

Re: v2.0 - still room for improvement
I've got version 2.0 but can't see apple carplay or android auto. Still had some issues as well. I couldn’t find it at first. The main menu screen has got a second page of icons. If you scroll down (swipe up), this is where I found the App-Connect icon through which I setup CarPlay. The icons can b...

Re: Wheels
You need to be very careful with alternative wheels. Not only do you have the obvious diameter, width and profile that you regularly see quoted which relate to the tyres but the wheels also have diameter, PCD and number of bolts, the centre hole diameter, width and very importantly the offset. If y...

Re: Driving style
I did a short journey today and reflected on how my driving style has changed since switching to EV and my ID.3. I find I drive generally more slowly, steadily, more relaxed. I revel in pulling away smoothly using the amazing EV always-available torque. In an ICE vehicle with a manual gearbox, I was...

Re: Wheels
The ID.3 has large wheels and narrow tyres, resulting in low rolling resistance. Large wheels/tyres designed for conventional cars are likely to be low profile and fat, so unsuitable for the ID.3. There are aftermarket wheels from VW Parts, specifically designed for the ID.3. For instance these: htt...
