Re: 1 year and 14,000 miles.Some thoughts.
As someone who had an ID3 on 2.3 and now has a Born on 3.0, let me tell you that the improvements are negligible, and almost every day i'm informed of an update that'll reset the infotainment system and whack your AC up to 22C mid journey, so you have to turn it back down again. Seriously annoying....

Re: A couple of general questions re charging in Scotland
There is a time limit for lidl car park which is 90 minutes it's not for the charger. If you park in a normal bay and go over 90 minutes you will be charged. You don't have to shop there to charge your car how could they police it. It’s camera controlled and you get the fine through the post. There...

Re: A couple of general questions re charging in Scotland
If it’s easier I find a 7kw charger gives about 30 miles per hour.
Check Lidl terms I have heard if you charge there and don’t shop you will get a fine even if paying for the charging.

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
Doesn't sound good does it? Just as well that we have had no notice at all from our dealer regarding the update. Or from VW direct via email, etc. for that matter. Same here, but my neighbour was contacted a couple of weeks ago he got his car after mine so I guess they don’t contact you by how long...

Piano black trim
Hi all, Hope you’re all enjoying the range in this hot weather. I’ve had my car since May last year and been on this forum the same amount of time, a lot has been said about getting fingerprints on the trim but tbh that doesn’t bother me, what does especially in this weather is that when I’m driving...

Hi.
I’m glad you have enjoyed your experience with the id3 and will miss your contributions on the forum.
I do like your new car would be good to hear your thoughts on it after a few weeks

A good report, it’s nice to see you are still enjoying the car with the longer journeys, I’ve done several with similar economy and it’s always been a pleasure to drive.

Re: Every ID. model will get its own GTX version in future
Why do we need it? My pp is plenty fast enough, the only reason you would need more performance is if you are racing on a track unless you are one of those total a**holes that think speed limits don’t apply to you. What we need is better value for mass adoption of EV s Why did you bother to go for ...

Re: First service cost
This has been covered in previous posts about a month ago.
VW mechanics must be driving around in Rollers and wearing Rollex judging by their hourly rate.
You need to check an independent service provider on line, you would get a service for £100-£120.
As said it 2years unlimited

Re: heating car
The cabin yes, you can do it through the app.
The battery will get a little heat while charging so will get up to temperature quicker when driving

Re: Service plans
That was for a “full service “ the small one was cheaper.
What got me was that the VW service manager still thought that the £338 plan was a good price! So even at £150 I can’t see people using VW to service their cars

Re: Service plans
Hi all
Just done a quick search and found a company called servicing stop. I put my reg in and it came up with a full service price of £152.80.
Obviously I would probably ring them to confirm they know it’s an EV , but what a difference to VW!!!!
Was thinking of booking it in for next year

Service
Hi all I’ve had an e-mail from my dealer to offer a service and mot for £338.10. Suggesting that it will be more expensive in a year ( for the first service) and two years for the mot. This sounds expensive to me? My personal thought would be that it should be a maximum of £250. What are your though...
