Re: Heated Wing Mirrors
I don't think so, only when you turn the knob to the heated mirror position.

Re: Wild brake disc and pad replacement quote
Are you absolutely sure that you actually need discs and pads? The braking system, using regeneration initially and then the friction brakes if needed, should ensure a much longer disc and pad life than an ICE car. I wouldn't trust a VW dealership and their recommendation for a new brakes and pads.

Re: MOT advisory
I will have to have a little 'extreme braking' in the wife's ID3 when before we take it to MOT next month.

Re: MOT advisory
I would also say that you should get another garage to look at it before forking out any money for discs.

Re: Digital Instrument Cluster question
Pressing the ok button doesn't seem logical but once you know it it does make it much simpler to navigate the screen. Like you, I spent an age trying to work out how to get the trips to change.

Re: Final thoughts after 2 years with new car arriving next week
Another driver delighted with the car. Wife's ID3 (leased) has been so good that she is wanting to buy one and keep it when lease ends in March. This Is the first car that she has ever said this.

Re: Tyre Recall
There are a lot of posts on the forum about the recall. Any ID3 that originally cam with the 19" Goodyears have the tyres replaced FOC. Ours were replaced with Continentals.

Re: ACC Screen
You should be able to have the three screens in the small display - ACC on left, Speed in centre and Driving Data on right. As Big_GT has said you need to scroll fully left on the small screen using the steering wheel view button.

Re: Error - DSP Firmware and Mercury Update
I wonder if the software update was completed correctly by the garage. It seem like some sort of software download issue. Our ID3 was updated to 3.2 at the dealer ans there have been no errors at all (Car just over 2.5 years old so same age as yours.).

Re: 3.2 Update woes
Interesting that you got replacement Goodyears as I had only read about people being supplied Continentals (as we were). Perhaps they need to get the tyres replaced sooner rather than later and have gone elsewhere.

Re: LHD Wipers Fitted to RHD Car
I'll take your word for it but I can only speak as I find. In eight months of ownership I haven't experienced any issues driving in adverse conditions. Mountains and molehills come to mind! What is ti with the repetition of the 'mountains and molehills' phrase? If this thread has members who are aw...

Took mine in this morning for the full update from 2.3, now i'm nervous after reading this post, they have had it all day and I havent been contacted yet, so hopfully they have had no issues. For all the people that have had update issues i'm hoping there are hundreds more that it has gone through ...

Re: Second hand value and depreciation
Why would you change back to an ice? I would have thought that being in a ulez zone would have been a no brainer to remain in a bev? One of the plus points for me of using a bevv in town is that I am not poisoning the local population as I drive by. (Yes, I know about electricity generation, etc but...

Re: Quick Intelligent Octopus Question
Interesting about tracker. I don't think it is easy to get on to tracker rate though is it? The other issue is that we use around 55% of our electricity on off peak according to Octopus so the Go/Intelligent rates make a lot of sense for us. At the moment we are completely at the mercy of VW to get ...

Quick Intelligent Octopus Question
With all the hassle we are having trying to get our ID3 up and running on IO (no webshop/car shop showing, etc) I was wondering if I should register for IO using my PHEV Kia Sorento. The main question was whether we could register through the Kia and then just go back to what we did with Octopus Go,...

'Good' to see we are not the only ones with this issue. We are also in contact with VW technical but so far no products available in car or webshop.
