Re: Range issues
Hi all Thanks for sharing your stories. I had my ID3 delivered this week and have been concerned that the range is well below what I expected in the winter. So far I’ve done 75 miles since charging to 80% and it’s down to 21%. Which would make 127 miles for a full 100% charge (even though I’ll only...

Re: 4 Minutes from Entry to Climate Operation - 2.3
When you start it defaults (before any screen coming up) to the last settings. So mine is set to 19 deg with ac on - and pretty much from when I sit in the seat it starts warming to that temp. Regardless of getting the climate screen up. Mine didn't do anything until the climate system was availabl...

CCS Not Charging Due to Small Plastic Debris
Just in case it helps anybody else, if you are failing to charge double check for any debris in the ID3's charge socket grooves. I was saved by a another ID3 driver on the evening of the 23rd after multiple failures at attempting to charge (Instavolt, Gridserve, Ionity, Instavolt, Instavolt), while ...

Re: Do you follow VW advice on battery charging?
Pretty much, I let it go down to 20% though as most of my journeys are local. This article I linked recommends 40% lowest for the winter and short journeys. I know, hence “pretty much” rather than “absolutely”. Reading https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/electric-and-hybrid/should-you-go-electric/servi...

Re: Charging etiquette - visiting people
My logic appears to be the other way around to everybody else. I would normally charge at home, so why when I am away would I not charge at "home". Plus it seems to the best way to practically let people see how simple / trouble free an electric vehicle is and how yes it is different to an...

Re: Miles per kWh settings
Long term averages are interesting, but good to know averages speeds as well. It would be good to know all the other figures which are displayed - average speed, total mileage, total time - we all know going faster reduces miles/kWh, but I suspect total time sat in car will also reduce as heating et...

Re: ACC buttons not responding
Maybe it was just the camera then for you. I hope my dead ACC buttons are a one off. Got a 60 mile return run tomorrow. Dave When the steering wheel buttons fails, they don't work (obviously), but also no haptic feedback when you press them and most visible is they are not lit up. If the buttons we...

Important Service Reminder?
I thought ID.3s only needed servicing every 2 years, anybody know why it needs servicing after 10 months. I just received email an email from my VW dealer "Important Service Reminder" - "Your vehicle, ID70FRE is due its scheduled service and our highly qualified manufacturer trained t...

Re: 3.0 Software announcement tomorrow?
So.. March next year then, I might have 2.3 by then. ...... Battery % next to the battery symbol yay.. In March VW announced ID cars would receive OTA updates every 3 months, starting in Summer 2021 i.e. Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring. So will there be another update before 3.0? https://www.autoevo...

Re: 4 Minutes from Entry to Climate Operation - 2.3
Pre-heat via the app, rather than get into a steamed up car? I'm practising that behaviour this winter, I didn't get into the habit last year. Or, just press the MAX button on the light control panel to the left of the steering wheel. Thanks good workarounds/features - as you say changing habits fo...

4 Minutes from Entry to Climate Operation - 2.3
On entering my cold ID.3 none of the computer systems work immediately, so no Navigation, no Climate, no Mode, can't check state of charge, listen to radio, etc.. Navigation is available first, then vehicle, then mode, but it can be up to 220 seconds before the climate system is operational. Is this...

Re: Delay in picking up location
Andreas, I have had the same experience when coming off ferries, but a system restart normally fixes it. I wonder if taking the car offline, and then back online would fix it. I have just seen this as a similar inconvenience as the slow start-up, that when you get in the car you can't select mode or...

Re: Is the heat pump reversible?
With my car with heat pump, pre-heating the car in winter for 20 minutes having charged the car to 80% and still plugged into granny charger, the car still had 80% charge. So granny charger (2kW) was able to supply power needs of heat pump only 1.5kW. Whereas with a loan 1st Edition no heat pump, si...

Re: Flickering Reversing Camera
Thanks, I have had the same problem with 2 different ID.3s, the place I reverse the most is down my drive which is where I have noticed it, doesn't always do it but disconcerting when it does. I could see the light having an influence if it was doing this while I was moving, but to take the video I ...

Flickering Reversing Camera
The image from my reversing camera is now flickering, as shown below, cuts to black, very distracting while trying to reverse and potentially dangerous in tight spaces. https://youtu.be/cuWUGk6kBas Anybody else experienced the same issue? Ironically, this was one of the faults I reported on the cour...

Re: Anyone contacted by VW about the heatPump?
On collecting my ID.3 having finally had the air con system set-up corrected, the dealer mentioned that VW would be paying me £250 to compensate for the poor performance of the heat pump. I hope this is compensation for the inconvenience caused the current poor performance of the heat pump and that ...

Re: Stationary Aircon (heat) only functions when charging
:-) After only two stays with the dealer (21 days), my car's heating system functions as it is supposed to. "Air Condition Now" works on leaving the car - whether plugged in or not plugged in. App displays all the Air Conditioning functions now and they work whether plugged in or not plugg...
