Learn something new every day. Adapters are also rated, and unless you get a good one such as the 15-amp/3.6kW rated SKross, you may end up with an ugly incident. The one in the picture was rated at only 10amps/2.5kW. This worked well for three weeks in a slightly more civilized place. Once I got into the deep hills of Abruzzo, where power quality is a variable thing, it conked out on the first night. Fortunately enough without doing further damage, but lesson learned, the hard way.
So when you travel to the continent, bring a decent adapter for your granny cable.
