Sat nav and speed

Picked my ID3 up on Thursday. Just getting used to everything.🙂

A couple of things I have noticed - it doesn't always show the correct speed of the road your on.

Eg motorway /dual carriage way showing 110!! 🙄

And country lane 40 showing as 20.

In the assist settings - to show if your " exceeding speed limit " it shows your exceeding it even though your not. Eg 30 mile limit shows on dash display when your doing 24....

I know there's a few bugs in the software let's hope it gets sorted!!

Not seen any speed camera settings yet!

I'm getting the "exceeding speed limit" too. I've set mine to report when 5mph over the limit. I'm wondering whether this feature is calculating kilometres per hour (kph) instead of mph. E.g. 30kph x 5/8 + 5 = 23.75 which is the actual speed in mph when the warning is displayed. Does anyone also get a warning at 42mph when in a 60mph speed limit?

Yes, I agree it seems to be a km/miles conversion bug in the speed warning - but the cruise control is not affected

I agree that the speed warning messages seem to be calculated on a kmh reading of the speed limit rather than mph, I have turned those messages off again for now.

Pretty sure ours is set to kmph as well... at 19mph (30 kmph) I get a bing and “speed limit exceeded” warning - along with a 30 icon. Seems the car doesn’t know it’s not in Germany!

I have had the same problems periodically with the ACC. A bit of a pain if it cause the car to slow down unexpectedly but easy to override. I assume a software update will sort it out as it does appear to be a mph/kph issue.

If only our department for transport would get it’s act together and move with the times and use world standard m or km for distances and km/h for road speeds these problems with the id3 could probably be avoided. Our Highway Code is a good 80% metric! What a muddle.
