Faults and Technical chat for the Volkswagen ID.3

I have been using the Volkswagen app to turn on Air Conditioning before going out on a cold morning. But now the app is telling me "Renew your contract for mobile online services". I don't know what I have to do?

Did your car recently get a software update? If so you'll need to go to the in-car shop and 'buy' weconnect and weconnect plus (they should be free, unless your car is >3yo, in which case I'm not sure if there is a charge for the plus bit, haven't heard anyone say they were charged yet).

VW sent out some rudimentary instructions on how to do this when some people got 3.0 over the air. The instructions were lacking but better than nothing. Post 3.2, if you were on 2.x the same steps need to be followed, but this time they gave out no instructions at all. I guess they expected dealers to do it...but the dealers are generally useless and know very little about it.
