Hi,
We've had our ID.3 (1st Edition) for a couple of weeks now, and most mornings we're now getting the warning...
"Front Assist Availability Limited"
It remains for about the first 5 minutes' driving, during which time the Matrix Headlights (Dynamic Headlight Assist) don't automatically dip either. After that, the systems recover, and function OK.
It seems to me that it is probably the obscuring of a camera/sensor involved in both of those systems. We haven't had any frost, so it's not ice. Has anybody else experienced this issue? I haven't seen it in the lists of issues which are known to be fixed by the major (2.0 / 2.1) software update, so I'm not sure whether to just hang on for that update, or whether to inform our dealer about it now.
Anybody else having this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Rob
Front Assist Availability Limited?
I would report it.
It might be related to the front camera in the central mirror housing - apparently the camera area has it's own heating element which might explain why it is OK after 5 minutes.
