Looking for advice on purchase of a Granny lead for ID3, so i can charge from domestic 13amp outlet

I was fortunate to get the VW cable included with the car purchase. It is currently my only means of charging and I use it frequently. Although I have nothing to compare it with I can say it is very well made and see it as a VW component. I don't believe it is hugely more expensive than any other granny cable.

We just bought the VW one from local dealer. £219.00. Works fine but may be too short for some.

Screwfix ones have a lower water ingress rating. Ok in a garage I suppose.

Can anyone explain the difference between the 3 pin granny cables listed in the configurator please. There's one within Driver Assistance at £180 and one in Accessories at £219. Thinking it's worth having for emergencies, but which to add to my order?
Or just buy outright rather than paying off over 3 years on pcp :D

It’s £180 if purchased via a factory order, or £219 if purchased as a dealer accessory.

As far as the PCP thing goes, if you really want VW OEM granny charger then I’d just add to the factory order and increase your deposit by £180.

I bought this one from amazon, its very good:




You may notice the same one is sold by many different suppliers. It always get a high rating

It's 7.5m so I also bought a 15m IP54 (waterproof) extension cable.

I have been using this solution exclusively for over a month. Hopefully my delayed zappi charger will be installed next week

Has anyone any experience of the Vorsprung charging cables which claim to be suitable for the ID3. Seems a cheaper option than the VW solution but may not have temperature monitoring which the VW one seems to have
