I kept getting 12V battery warnings (Drive the car to charge & Visit a workshop) so VW Assist took the car to the garage some 45 mins away as the closer garage doesn't have a technician who can deal with id.3s apparently. They said they couldn't find any faults and that the 12V battery was fine. Fast forward a week or so and the problem recurs - this time the nice AA man says the 12V battery is dead and sure enough, the car won't go anywhere. Back to the garage and 10 days later I have been told that there is a transformer fault - presumably charging 12V from main battery - and the part is on back order with no delivery date.
Has anybody else had this problem?

I’ve have many other problems, but that’s a new one on me.
