So it looks like you’ve got into the Car part of the app, into Settings, and then to Mobile online services
What do you see if you go two screens back from there? (If you pressed the < on the screen once then once again) Do you see the car in the Car part of the app and the Home part of the app?
If you go and sit in your car, with it in online mode, do you have a strong signal shown in the upper part of the left-side panel?
Thanks for the response, if i hop back to the car screen i see an avatar of my car but nothing about range or battery status and Air con option doesn't do anything. Reception in the car is full bars and we have been driving it around today where i checked it a few times still the same. Also loaded the app on my better halfs iPhone and its the same.
Something definitely isn’t right there then, I would ask your dealer if they can help - you can also send a help/feedback email from the Profile part of the app.
You should be able to see charge progress on the app by looking at the vehicle menu (the car icon on the bottom ribbon). When it’s charging it will tell you how long until reachng the target charge.
Have you received an email from Volkswagen confirming that your online services have been activated? My app looked the same as yours until about 4 weeks after I got the car. I then received an email from Volkswagen telling me my online services had been activated, and the App started to work. The satnav started displaying traffic information at the same time.

Mine did the same a couple of weeks ago - resolved itself the next day though.
Feels like another ID quirk. Did you get it resolved?
yes resolved today i raised a support ticket, i then received an email saying my service had been activated and it started working.
Very next drive i then started getting problems with overspeed warnings when i was well below the speed it was saying and now im getting an air bag malfunction message!
I think the online component thats now working has some screwy speed limit data or its calculating the cars speed wrong through the GPS rather than using wheel speed. seems so off i don't think it's something simple like KM for Miles.
Those are some of the classic 0564 software version symptoms, you could report to your dealer for them to update your car to 0570 or just wait for the production software coming to us all soon.
Mine did the exact same. First day, i was unable to access the charging or Air-con from the APP. Once i received, the ‘services have been activated’ email from VW, it all started to work. It is slow to send the info to the car from the APP - however, my Touareg was the same. I assume there is a fair amount of validation going on before it does what you ask.
I’m gonna book it in for the software update. The range in the app is now different to the car. Currently at 100% with the car estimating 227miles but the app is reporting 140 mile range at 100%.
It’s All a bit sketchy - coming from bmw their connected app had its faults but was light years ahead on functionality and stability.
good luck - just said earlier on another post - since airbag light was on for a week - took to my dealer and they reprogrammed various components - since no faults with any modules - fingers crossed.
Have a word with your dealer - Norwich VW were amazing and given it was they first non PDI work they had done on an ID they me proud
