I think that's a bit unfair given the context, which is that they said they would give an update by the end of June and they have been hounded for it ever since. This is actual progress ie it's central VW saying they have now passed out the information to national groups and dealers will have it imminently. And we only have to wait until tomorrow for the schedule. So that's good, despite the overall programme obviously taking way longer than it should have. I'm feeling optimistic many of us will get 2.4 in Q3 and 3.0 before year-end but let's see.
VW stated in 2021 that there would be a quarterly update program. 2.4 is technically a recall and was announced for Q1 2022 (I think) it's now Q3 2022 (well tomorrow it is) and so far No quarterly updates, No 2.4 Recall but a lot of wind about how expert they are becoming at software and a lot of announcments about forthcoming announcements about software. Why tell the public they have told the dealers?
I think it's very fair to say they haven't got a clue how to deal with updates. If my Directors ask for an update on projects and I sent them a presentation about forthcoming announcments about progress with no actual measurable commitments I would be out of a job.

I think the reality here is that this VW software mess is due to poor Director level decisions. Some of the Directors should have gone maybe even Diess…
I just got my ID3 Tour pro s today and it came 2.3.0,and it’s not even connecting to We connect ID,despite being online, now I know what people were talking about how bad the software was.
Is there anyone out there still on 2.1? I contacted VW last October after they'd emailed me to say the update was on its way... This was their stock reply which I'm guessing you've all seen!
I then contacted them in December to ask if they had any news about the promised and as yet elusive updates... Stock reply again!
I've not bothered emailing them since. 2.1 is working fine and I'm not a technophile so it doesn't really bother me but, I'm just disappointed with VW (not that they'll lose any sleep about me!) It's fair to say that the well is being slowly soured, as far as my thoughts about VW are concerned, and that's a shame; I love the car but not the Company. C'est la vie.
3.1 isn't even a distant thought!

Well apparently 2.4 is actually happening.
"Dear ID. Drivers,
We announced to get back with information on the ID. software 2.4 update in June. So much for now: we are good to go!
Today, we have shared comprehensive information with our markets that will be shared with all service partners in the coming days. On Friday July 1st we'll post the first public information regarding the concrete next steps & starting dates here in the ID. Drivers Club.
Looking forward to getting all of you updated!
Your Volkswagen ID. Team"
So, have any Facebook users ( as I assume that's where VW will post) seen or heard anything more about this?
And what is to happen to those not on Facebook, will we get left behind at the kick off
Life Pro Performance, 58Kw, Manganese Grey,
19"Andoyas. Picked up 9 July 21 from local VW with 2.1 updated to 2.3 Oct.
7 Kw Pod Point Solo 2, now a solo 3 after new pcb fitted.

If it ever happens, I don't think anyone will be left behind anything. The dealers should be obliged to contact all relevant owners to arrange their update. VW's narrow minded method, of assuming everyone and his dog has a Facebook account, is NOT how you should keep customers updated on any recalls or updates. VW have their own website for heaven's sake, on which I, assume, most owners have registered their ID. Why they can't post information on there, beggars belief.
So now we all must wait for our respective dealers to come up with the loan vehicle for each of us to have whilst 2.4 is undertaken. Hope they all haven't sold 80 id3s or it's gonna be a long wait

I have my ID3 booked in 15th July to correct the ‘SOS error’. Hope it can tie in with this 2.4 recall so I don’t lose the car for another day.
But very unlikely I guess. I might bother the dealer anyhows. Customer first and all that …
For non Facebook people...in reply to someone's questions:
- they said they can't guarantee when invites will start in each country but nominally from the middle of next week (interesting someone said yesterday that she'd had it already), and
- they clarified that the 3.0 update would be a separate programme afterwards rather than occurring straight away, and that it would be downloaded in the background like 2.3 was but without the 7-day trigger problem
ID.3 Family Pro Performance (Jan 22), Makena Turquoise / East Derry alloys. Ohme Home Pro charger.
So in summary.
We don’t know when we are getting 2.4 and we don’t know when we are getting 3.0.
And for Gods sake don’t contact the dealers about either because they know less than that.

Their communication says free mobility will be provided. Hope that’s a car and not a scooter or pogo stick!

So, afterwards, (and I know we don't know the answer) are they saying that 3.0 will start after 2.4 is complete or there will be an initial delay? If we've got to wait for them to try and catch up with updating to 2.4 It'll be 2023.
My iD3 tour pro s came yesterday with software 2.3.0 and it can’t even connect to VW servers,it’s online but can’t connect but it’s a nice car to drive but hope they sort these software issues soon.
