Looks like we are in the same boat.
Just hoping I get delivery before xmas but I'm also thinking about cancelling, the coms have been dreadful
Yeah - I've contacted the dealer this morning to see if there's any alternatives. I have a feeling that it's the options we've specced on - the Live Chat said as much.

Was it just the Assistance Pack you specced on the Life you ordered, or more ?

Hi all,

I have just received my ID.3 Family Pro in Manganese-Gray with East Derry alloy wheels today, which I ordered on 4th June 2021 via Carwow.

When I left the dealership the price of petrol was £139.9 per litre and there was a queue of cars filling up because of possible fuel shortages.

It looks like I bought the ID.3 just in the nick of time.

In early August got "confirmed" production start of week 34 (week beginning Aug 23) - which the dealer said was hypothetical as production was then running about 8 weeks late, so to expect "production around the middle of October and delivery maybe mid November". Which was what we'd been advised when we placed the order. Nothing specific since then.
Dealer has contacted to say car is at Emden ready for shipping! Any comments on how long it has taken from this stage to being ready for collection?

That's depending on shipping at the moment. There's one half way to Grimsby at the moment but cannot see any other crossings a good few days yet.
Once this side anything up to 2 weeks at UK port.

With the prices going down on the ID.3 on the 1st July I would imaginne they started to sell more hence build week times started to stretch out from then.

Live chat to VW on their front page, and give them the order number. They don't like handing out unconfirmed build weeks though...

Interestingly my dealer just emailed me an update, and mentioned this as he was mildly surprised that the dates for ID.3's at least in his dealer pipeline (Marshalls) are standing up quite well.
I had heard that Volkswagen were prioritising EV builds in an effort to bring their CO2 averages down.
This is something I hadn't considered, but actually makes a lot of sense under the circumstances and seems to fit the observed facts as well.

I’ve just ordered today and was told March delivery - build some time in Feb though I’ve taken a build slot for VWFS. Another dealer was suggesting 9 months if I ordered today.

When does a car count towards CO2 averages? At build or delivery? Hopefully my Jan order will be brought forward :D

I'd guess at point of sale. If it were at point of build, VW would just keep building to meet a CO2 fleet target and not care too much about getting them sold quickly. In reality, there was a bit of a fire sale at the end of last year to try to meet end of year targets, when some oeople who timed it right ended up with £10k off the RRP of a 1st edition.

Which means they'll be at the hurry-up to invoice before year end. If true, this is good.

On the other hand, they're hardly building any ICE cars, right ? Presumably this might also be to help their CO2 fleet target figures

No - nearest would be Sheerness.

Dealer estimates car will be with them second half of October.

Google found me a news item which said VAG have 11 ROROs worldwide on charter, but it didn't say what their names are, nor where they operate. Is that info online anywhere? (Keeping tabs on a ship is straightforward once one knows its name - and some other detail if there are several ships with the same name.)
