With WFH measures being reintroduced, does anybody know how this will effect vehicle deliveries? I’d assume ports will be allowed to carry on as normal, but what about dealers?
Not being able to collect my car due to COVID will be just the kick in the pants I’ve come to expect at this point!

As shops will be open there will be zero impact on dealers.Eddcunningham wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 6:18 pm With WFH measures being reintroduced, does anybody know how this will effect vehicle deliveries? I’d assume ports will be allowed to carry on as normal, but what about dealers?

...it'll allow them to justify launching the keys at you from a distance and suggesting you locate it in the far corner of the lot on collection
Collection will be fine - they’ll just call it a “Cheese & Wine business meeting”…sausageroll wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 6:57 pmNot strictly true...Up the jumper wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 6:31 pmAs shops will be open there will be zero impact on dealers.Eddcunningham wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 6:18 pm With WFH measures being reintroduced, does anybody know how this will effect vehicle deliveries? Was googling for id3 delivery times and found this forum so thought I would join and add my order to the list
Ordered October 4th 2021
VW dealer Kings Lynn, Marriott Motor Group
No order number given, dealer said the factory has accepted the order, dealers delivery estimate was March 2022
I get an email every 3 weeks from the dealer saying "No update from VW" though I asked them to chase and they basically told me to contact VW myself... Dealer says they are expecting an update from VW Q4 2021

And you ordered in July?
This is what infuriates people I think.
My dealer is STILL suggesting a Jan 22 delivery date is possible for us, ( but as per usual they don’t want to put anything on paper) despite our order going in Sept 2021 and not having a confirmed build date.
They need to manage peoples expectations a lot better.

Small update for the interested among us...
(or, indeed, those expecting deliveries to Southern dealers)
Parana is due to arrive at Sheerness on Saturday, as expected:
Danube Highway is due to arrive at Sheerness (or, apparently 'Sherness') this morning (in 2 hours)

To be fair to the dealer, when I ordered at the beginning of july I was told not to expect the car before Feb 2022., the documentation I have says expected handover 28/02/2022.
That I was given a build week of 40 raised my hopes that it would be sooner, once it shifted to 45 I pretty much knew it would be in the new year. Just glad I got my charge point installed early so didnt run the risk of missing out on the grant, although the neighbours must be wondering why I've had an EV charge point for 6 months and no EV.

Just had an e-mail from my leasing company to say my vehicle is "with the factory" but no build week confirmed although they expect to have that information shortly. At this point hoping that means a build date after week 51. My expected handover is late Feb as well but we shall see...

Makes me wonder why they're quoting such longer lead times? :/Cooksp wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 11:47 ambbardsley wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 11:09 am We ordered on the 17th August and ours still hasn't been allocated a build week. I've just got off the phone with the dealership it's been ordered through (Listers of Straford) who said it's likely to be June 2022 now...
I also queried whether our car would get the Model Year 2022 specification changes which include:
- a physical traction control button
- e-call
- new seat trim
- toolkit instead of tyre repair kit
- function on demand (no idea what that is)
They said they don't know as they've been told conflicting info from factory, apparently it was anything ordered after week 48 will have the new additions/changes, but they've also heard anything built after week 48. So I guess we'll know once it eventually arrives!
That is crazy, I ordered mine a week before you and was told yesterday it was finally built and on the way to the ship, there is no way they should take 4 months to get a build week! something seems very wrong with what this dealer has told you!
Ordered 17/08/21: ID.3 Tour | Glacier White

Danube Highway is running slow, but it's close. I'd expect that they'd be unloading this evening.

My last lingering faint hope for a December/January collection is that our Tour is on one of those Sheerness boats, and just hasn’t had its status update.
How desperate I’ve become
