Just had another update from my dealer. Was for ages on status 10 and unconfirmed build Wk 38. Last update bumped me down to status 0 (no build week) which my dealer said was good news as my car was now "progressing. So now I learn what the progress is. I am now back at status 10 with an unconfirmed build wk of 02/2023 which is a 16 week slippage. That will be well over a year since ordering. I am seriously going to have to consider whether it is worthwhile hanging on. For what it is worth my dealer has been sending updates every 3 to 4 weeks and I do feel sorry for him having to answer irate customers like me.

If my order goes over 12 months & I lose the grant.
Roughly how much do you think the monthly payments will increase by?
Its a 3 year lease.

Typically you can assume around £25 per month per £1000 of support if that helps, can’t usually go to far wrong on that basis.

Why do say you lose the grant.?The government announcement stopping the plug-in grant said all existing applications would be honoured. Also my estimated build is now 14 months after order but my dealer confirmed the grant and the price agreed at order were firm.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/167837 ... 795406490/The grant is ONLY valid for 12 Months from the date of order.

I think your dealer is unaware or in denial.

But originally it was only valid for 6 months and then it was 9 months and then 12 months. So it's not out of the question that the validity period would be extended again.

So around £65 per month more than my agreement?

Yup, it was just this week, first 'positive' bit of communication. Hopefully you'll hear soon.

That's good mate, hopefully it won't shift any further back for you. I hope so too. I was half expecting a call yesterday but didn't happen.

Today I bought a new BMW 1 series M Sport rather than wait any longer for our ID3 style. We ordered the ID3 last October. It was meant to be ready by April. After many requests for update and no real confirmation, we got the deposit back a few months ago. We were still waiting but they just couldn’t get us an update.

I told VW today that we would t wait any longer and to cancel it. They said fine and latest update is cars due early January. So we’d miss the go gov grant. Being honest I’m glad I’ve swapped now. Lost interest in electric and VW as a whole. They just couldn’t commit and somethings are just not worth waiting for.

Good luck to anyone waiting.

I think we may have to bail out soon. We are no nearer getting a definite date of when we can expect the car. Seems none of the cars which were ordered at our dealer have arrived . It will be a year end of October and we will have to renew our PCP for our Toyota .
So do we pay the rest of our balance for the car or trade in our other car and go back to a hybrid .
It would seem the Jan 23 date is now being quoted a lot to people that have ordered in oct . Of course it could still turn up out the blue but I’m not confident at all about VW.
If the car ever turns up we won’t be upgrading with them. We will probably look into other companies as their customer care has been shocking .

Sorry I am not in that Facebook group so I cannot see where the 12 months validity you are citing comes from.
Here is the original government announcement from June this year ending the grant and you will see that all existing applications will be honoured.
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/plug ... e-charging
The announcement includes this
All existing applications for the grant will continue to be honoured and where a car has been sold in the 2 working days before the announcement, but an application for the grant from dealerships has not yet been made, the sale will also still qualify for the grant.
Can you please tell me where you get 12 months from? I know that previous announcements regarding the grant did specify a validity period but it seems the latest announcement ending the grant does not.

Thank you for your email of 15 July about a delayed grant payment for your new electric car. Your email was passed to the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) for a response.
Our guidance states that grant orders must be completed within 12 months from when the order was first logged. This was extended from the original 9 months earlier this year to account for supply chain issues. If your vehicle is delivered within 12 months of the original order being placed, the grant will be honoured.
Whilst we are aware of the current supply issues that manufacturers are having, OZEV are not in a position to extend the delivery period for Plug in Vehicle Grant orders at the current time. This may be something we can consider in due course – vehicle manufacturers have approached the Department regarding this matter directly.
Thank you for taking the time to write in with your concerns

There have also been some dealers who have said it's fine you will get the grant even if it goes over the 12 months. Will be interesting to see if things are applied consistently. Don't think I have yet heard of anyone not getting it applied. We likely won't have to wait long to find out though.

It’s come straight from the department of transport!
12 months they’ll only honour.
