Has anyone with a build week between 38-40 been notified that their car has left the factory?

Very glad to hear it. I don't suppose you would be able to share the first few digits of your VW factory order number if you have it (I maintain a little spreadsheet of these numbers and key dates so I can either hope or despair depending on how things are looking ). The VW factory order number is always 8 digits long, and begins in a 3. The first few digits of my order number are in my signature below. No problem if you don't want to share, or don't know what it is though !

Anything you can you tell us from this magical spreadsheet so far? Should we all start putting on our clown makeup now or hold off a bit?

Hardly magical, just a few distilled "facts" drawn from people's posts It's harder work than you'd think to collate all this so I certainly don't have everyone's information perfectly correct and I've probably missed a few updates (the OCD isn't bad enough to make me want this to be 100% all the time )

Rather than give my thoughts, here's the read-only Google Sheets link to the data I maintain and you can draw your own conclusions! The sheet is sorted by Order Number, so people who haven't got an order number advertised somewhere in the forum are at the bottom.



(All errors and omissions entirely my own, and I'll happily amend any details that anyone wants me to amend or remove, just PM me.)

Did you get confirmation of the BW from VW etc?

I ordered the same as you, but a couple of weeks later, and got all of the BW emails from VW, then some 'delay' ones in the middle of October, and nothing since. A month today was the estimated delivery date.
Have emailed the dealer but they haven't replied yet (been a few days)

Strange to see the build week 36 orders have still not left the factory but a few build week 37-39 orders have.

Ordered my ID3 Max in July with a 31384xxx order number, build week of 46 and the dealer now has no idea what's going on, despite constantly telling me car is due for delivery mid december. Last update today was that it's still showing status 20 but doesn't seem to have gone into production yet. My order was through parkway VW.

Obviously the dealer is just fobbing me of with "your car is due to go into production very soon" when reality is that it is going to be March 22 or later....

That's not a factory order number...

The order number you have there is the dealer order number. You need to ask the dealer for a factory order number which will be 8 digits starting 31xxxxxx and also ask them what status the order is at. The status is a 2 digit code, ie 10, 20 etc.

I've not asked for an update since 12th Oct, and the response I got then was a estimated BW of 47 (Nov 22nd-28th), I'll drop him a message in December and see if there has been any movement.
