Queuing at the petrol stations!
My wife's car and both our motorbikes need petrol, and the majority of the population is being inconvenienced
I certainly did not vote for it. The worst act of self harm possible. It was always clear to me that vision set out by Johnson was impossible to achieve (all of the benefits of the club without any of the costs, cake and eat it) but many people liked the Brexit wet dream and I think many people could only see what we put into the EU and not what we gained from it. Look at all these people coming here etc without thinking about all the brits who were benefitting from being able to move freely and use services in other EU countries. Sigh

Brexit seems to have been whitewashed from the UK Press memory. Search for the word on any of the major news websites and it’s nowhere… lots and lots about the other factors (that are of course factors) but not the elephant in the room.
My father, who is a long-converted EV driver, said that the main thing he doesn't miss at all is filling the car with fuel. It's the thing I look forward to missing the most.

I would keep an eye on your electricity bills if I were you!
This is the lesson for those who will go electric. Constant waiting to charge a car. ICE drivers need to get used to this backward waiting. This is their first lesson.

I wouldn't wish queuing for fuel on anyone - total PITA when you're on a longer trip and the only chargers at the services are occupied. Worse still when you see the charger progress to deduce they beat you by literally 2 mins and now you have to wait 40 mins until they're full and vacate the charger. Happened to me a month ago.

How often have you had to use public chargers? The waiting is during the charge, not beforehand, in my experience.

I've only used a fast charger 4 times and on one of those times, all charging points at Donnington services on the M1 were taken. I had a 32 minute wait to plug in and another 35 mins to charge. I have seen more new EVs in the last few weeks than in the last year - waits at public chargers are getting more and more likely as new EV sales outstrip the rate of charger installation.

I agree with this. Today for the first time all 4 Ionity chargers were in use at our usual spot and time. Historically it was either us or just 1 other. Plus side, people are very considerate, sit in their cars and ask how much charge you need and offer to give their place up if urgent.monkeyhanger wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 8:05 pm
