Hi
Anyone with an active data plan unable to access internet radio? Was fine up until Saturday morning been unavailable since then.

What does it actually do that you cannot do via your connected phone? (via say Apple CarPlay with apps)
Nothing really, although it is "easier" for listening to UK radio stations for me. Less faffing as I can just save them as favourites.
The data plan is pointless to me, unless something new is in the future.

Yes there is DAB, well there is in my Max, not sure if DAB is spec dependent, that would be very mean.
(Only use it if I can't get cellular signal for CarPlay).

AM/FM/DAB
I don't see the value in internet radio given that I can use phone apps.

Ah, I’ve had the same problem for the past few days. But, my UK car is currently in Spain so I wondered if it was a roaming thing… obviously not then. It doesn’t matter but the persistent error message that it gives is a bit annoying. And I can’t see any way to permanently clear the error (it comes back every time I start the car).

Out of interest, what iOS "internet radio" apps are good ones, with a CarPlay interface ? Ideally free or one-time purchase. Paying TuneIn £6 a month doesn't appeal...

Is yours working again yet? in answer to Scott’s question it’s not about what it does it’s about the fact that £40k later it should just work, not work intermittently , require you to remove fuse 19, email whoever at VW.
VW is not the only car manufacturer who struggle with this ,Jaguar have also have had woeful software over the last few years.
It would help if VW had a better technical help desk to deal with software issues rather that we support who are really nothing more that a customer service cut and paste outfit that benefit from the fact that things start working again after a number of days.
I don’t understand why VW just don’t acknowledge the weaknesses and explain them in a way ordinary customers can inderstand

You're 100% right, I just wondered what the actual value in the feature was.
Mine is now working again. Coincidence or not, it started working 15 minutes after We-Connect-Support responded telling me it was a hardware fault (seriously).
When I was in the dealer happily paying for new tyres after only 20K (Pirelli) the rep indicated that he had had 10 calls since Friday from people saying they were offline. Curiously also, the Golf loaner they gave us was also offline with the same message that we had on the iD3 (something about security settings).
I still think it's server side

Here’s a tip for those times where you are wondering if an online service is down or if it’s something at your end.
Visit downdetector.co.uk and check. I just did a search for downdetector weconnect and it took me to a page that shows me if people are saying that the service is down or not.
At the moment it’s not down, but the logs show the odd blip recently.

Doesn't down detector rely on user reported outages. I can't see a significant number of users reporting problems with their cars connectivity?

Can't help with the title of this thread.
BUT
DAB is not a nationwide coverage. Around here you are restricted to BBC radio and that is it. Having an internet radio is much better.

Hi I have the same problem, its been unavailable for 14 days now, when I try to connect to internet radio it just reports service unavailable at the moment try again later. My plan with Cubic telecom is still valid until 3rd December (I paid for one months data) so very frustrating.simonmaskell wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 7:37 pm Hi

A few days after the Internet Radio becoming unavailable the car went offline for seven days then came back on but still no internet radio so the two problems do not appear to be connected.
Some contributors wonder what the use of internet radio is. I use it for keeping up to scratch with other languages that I can speak or that I am learning. I also like to listen to TED talks using the service and I am sure that it must often be used by expats.
Mine still offline. Reporting, again, to the dealer. Who are quite useless in this regard.
