Swindon’s my most local dealer so although I don’t have my car yet, should it arrive with 2.3 later this year then at least they’ll have had some good experience of sorting them by then! 🤷‍♂️

Murrays in Newton Abbot picked up our 1st Edition on Tuesday morning and brought it back lunchtime today (Thursday). My wife noticed that the "mature gentleman" who drove it was sweating, but thought no more about it. However when she took it out later she found the ventilation system wasn't working at all. The fan is completely inoperative and even though she tried turning on the aircon, she couldn't feel any cool air at all coming through the vents, so that by the end of the journey she was sweating too!

Anyway, they've asked her to bring it in tomorrow so we'll see what happens, but I wonder if anyone else has heard of this happening.

To be fair to Murrays, their communications have been great and they did warn us that the update would take at least two days. I just hope it's nothing too serious.

So are you saying that before the car went in for the update, the aircon was fine, and not so when they brought it back? If so, doesn't sound like a dealer I would want to give business to.

From the VW website:

After the successful installation of ID. software 2.4, your ID. will display the following ID. software and Software information:

ID. Software: 2.3.0
Software: 0912
The Software number 0912 indicates that your ID. has ID. software 2.4 installed. In future releases the ID. Software number displayed in the system information menu should correspond to the version installed.

It sounds like 3.0 could actually come straight after 2.4. I'm not on Facebook though. Has anyone on there mentioned if they've got the OTA yet?

Does it really make sense to release 3.0 when 2.4 is putting significant pressure on the dealer network?. Yes it’s OTA but undoubtedly there will be issues and questions which will just add more pressure…
I’d of thought they will wait a month or two.

Sorry guys if I put this in the wrong sub.received my ID3 tour pro ,4 weeks ago,but how do I tell it’s the one with new sensors on the side or maybe one of those which was built but they didn’t have fittings last years and they just kept them all this time and software 3.0 won’t be fun at all, cheers.

If it has software 3.0 it will also have the sensors and park functions. If it has software 2.3 it won't. Go to settings from the main infotainment menu, then system information and see what it says.

The new Tours don’t seem to have the side radar sensors.. (mine didn’t - delivered 6 weeks ago) and it came with 2.3. It’s likely these were cars that were started late 21 early 22 then finished more recently.

No, out in the wilds of the West Coast. 115 miles and two ferries to the nearest dealership!

My wife took the car back to them on Friday. After inspection, they decided to book it in, but while she was doing that the mechanic in charge of the updates came rushing in and said he had "reconfigured something" and everything was OK. Sorry if his explanation is a bit too technical for you! Anyway, it seems to be fixed, so now we're waiting for 3.0.
