No. Charge rate (in kW, not kWh) is determined in a "conversation" between the car and the charger. To achieve maximum charge speed you need to plug in with a low state of charge and a warm battery.
Why were you "expecting about 100kW"?

You can only warm the battery significantly by driving it at high speed (70) for a couple of hours or with lots of acceleration and deceleration. I find it fine on long trips where I can drive a full stint at 70 and plug in around 10%, but it is always going to be slow to charge in winter if you are needing to charge after only a short drive.
Note that even if the battery is at perfect temperature, you won't get 100kw plugging in at 30%, probably more like 70kw. The entire charging curve depends on the SoC at which you plug in, for some reason. You need to plug in below around 15% to get the best charging curve. In summer you'll probably see 100kw if you plug in anywhere below 20%.
The caveat to this is if you have a new (MY25) ID3 with the new infotainment. They come with a new function in the charging menu to preheat the battery - you can do it either by navigating to a charger, or manually. They also have a new 59kwh battery with a much better charge curve full stop.

Thanks sidehaas, the car had only been driven about 10 miles this morning at 30 mph , outside temp about 3 degrees when I started to charge at BP Pulse.
Later next week I’ll be driving for about 75 miles ( half of it motorway) then will charge at a Gridserve 150kw charger- then continue my journey.
I’ll make a note of the battery %, charging rate ,outside temp and will post my findings on the day.
Do you / others on the forum charge to 100% before a long journey or stay with the recommended 80% ?

I charge to 100% for a long trip. It's no problem as long as you don't leave it sat at 100% for long periods.

Re charge rate at high speed chargers I think the highest charge rate I have seen in the 18 months we have had our id3 is 90kw which was in the summer, SOC 16% after a couple of hours at 70mph on the motorway.

As I understand it, there's no difference in how braking is carried out (variable regen until speed or other factors mean regen can't deliver the retardation required), simply whether releasing right pedal pressure initiates retardation or turns off the drive allowing the vehicle to coast.
As to 100%, I usually do charge to 100% before setting off from home when I know I will use a fair amount of charge before getting back or to a charger, partly to maximise range, partly to keep costs down. Conversely, when heading home I am happy to arrive with below 20% charge left - even well below 20% if I am absolutely confident of how much distance I'll need to cover.
I also like to charge to 100% before a long journey. Unless I’m heading home I don’t like to drop below 30% when traveling. Public charging availability and reliability has improved a lot in the last 3 years but I still get edgy on long trips and stop to charge more often than probably needed.

I also have never got better than 95kW. As well as battery temperature etc, I think some charging locations just don't deliver what they claim. Which is really annoying when you're being charged more for using a high energy charger but it's limping along at 35kW.
My id3 I'm sure used to have its theoretical max charging rate in its model name, and that was 110kW.
This poor charging rate is my only gripe about the id3 really. And to be practical about it, if it actually charged as advertised there's be no time for lunch.
