3.7 Update during next service

Just booked my 21 plate in for second service (4yrs from new) + mot
When booking was advised car was listed for recall for software update to 3.7
If I could leave car for 2 days, then they would do update at same time
I was surprised as I thought the 3.7 update was OTA
Anyone else had 3.7 update done at main dealership ??

They do it at the dealership if the car is currently on something earlier than 3.2. It's effectively covering the 3.2 and battery check recalls as well as the update from 3.2 to 3.7. If the car is already on 3.2 that's unusual.

The dealership did mine while the car was in having the electronic sound box/recorder replaced.

Car is already at 3.2, done with battery check 12 months ago, so expected to go from 3.2 to 3.7 would be OTA.
Happy if VW want to do it
Will update after workshop visit booked for end of March
