I wish I could share your optimism! But it will all be fixed on Wednesday when VW Technical in Milton Keynes return the technician's call.
In retrospect, the five days they took to install 2.0 on my ID.3 seems pretty reasonable.

Ok feeling happier today, car charge on the app started going down for the first time in 2 weeks, fingers still strongly crossed.hungerdunger wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 12:17 amI wish I could share your optimism! But it will all be fixed on Wednesday when VW Technical in Milton Keynes return the technician's call.

If you plan on driving the car in the next 5/7 days leaving it above 80% is fine. What EV (lithium) batteries don't like is being stored at low (under 20%) or high (over 80%) levels for long periods of time (weeks on end)simonrg wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 7:10 pmOk feeling happier today, car charge on the app started going down for the first time in 2 weeks, fingers still strongly crossed.hungerdunger wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 12:17 amI wish I could share your optimism! But it will all be fixed on Wednesday when VW Technical in Milton Keynes return the technician's call.

I was contacted by the dealer early afternoon staff back off self-isolation, my ID.3 has been "fully" updated, put on charge, will be taken out for a test drive tomorrow morning and I should be able to collect it after lunch.
Thought I would share a screen shot (below) to record the event.
I am a bit concerned to see that the car has been charged to 100%, very generous of the dealer, but do I now have to go for a 20% charge drive so I don't leave it charged above 80%?

Great thanks, that's good of the dealer then and it saves me have to charge to 100% this month to balance the cells.
It will work! Just try “hello ID, I’m cold” or warm....simonrg wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 3:03 pm After 16 days with the dealer I have my ID.3 back updated to 2.0, most of the issues have been fixed, aside from mph to kph.
Carplay works etc., the manual is now available under the help icon.
Rather disappointed that looking in help it says " Sorry, voice control for air conditioning is not supported in this language." - not good as sliders are invisible in dark and 16 second YouTube VW clip demonstrating using voice control showcases heat, navigation and radio voice control.

Presumably this will work in 2.1.
No it doesn't work, I get "Sorry", on repeating I get "Air conditioning functions can not be operated by voice control".stu-evs wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 3:45 pmIt will work! Hmmm... I’m not 100% sure in that case - perhaps someone else with a non-1st edition can jump in here too - but I don’t think that I’ve seen a different level of software/voice functionality between specs documented anywhere?simonrg wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 4:01 pmNo it doesn't work, I get "Sorry", on repeating I get "Air conditioning functions can not be operated by voice control".stu-evs wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 3:45 pmIt will work! I guess it must be a feature of the 1st Edition vs. Business - I not impressed.
Thanks as you say this is what all of VW's brochures / web pages / advertising have said, hence my disappointment, as this to me would be the most useful piece of voice as temperature control in the dark is a distracting activity as the controls are not lit up.
Just had a look at this for you...here is a screenshot of the relevant help page in our 1st Ed. Never actually gone into the help section before!simonrg wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 12:14 amThanks as you say this is what all of VW's brochures / web pages / advertising have said, hence my disappointment, as this to me would be the most useful piece of voice as temperature control in the dark is a distracting activity as the controls are not lit up.
I am stuck in the "computer says no situation" - if I mention cold / heat car tells me it can't do it and help menu says it too.
If on the Infotainment system you go to Help - Voice Control - Air Conditioning - what does yours say? Mine says NO - see message image above.
Please could somebody with 0783 on a Life or Business model try to control heat by voice and let me know if it works - thanks.
Thanks and sorry you have the problem.Kelloggs wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 5:31 pm I have a life pro bought 23rd dec which was updated to me 2.0 in early jan. I can’t get voice activation of ac either and have the same message. I’m contacting dealer next week for that and the miles to km speed warning. Also I can’t get remote warming apart from 1 time when plugged in. Lost being able to warm seats or steering wheel in app, much the same as others. No delayed charging etc. I’ve also lost the automatic wiper function..
Assuming VW are still producing ID.3s in Germany, then ECUs are available in Germany, so the delay is VW prioritising building new ID.3s over repairing your ID.3 for 30 days.Jel wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 3:05 pm So after having my first booking cancelled in Dec I had my ID3 booked in for the 4th of Feb. Now 8 days later I've just been told it needs a new ECU. If it takes 30 days do get the new ECU delivered like some have mentioned I will flip.
I'm really not impressed with VW at the moment.
Do you know if they were trying to install 2.1 or presumably 2.0?Daveion wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 12:15 pm ....
Turned up, deposited my car and keys, collected the courtesy car and drove away. 10 minutes later I received a call from them to advise that they have been instructed by VW that they cannot carry out SW updates until further notice following a series of LOCK-OUTS? so I need to return and pick my car back up???????
