I have looked through topics but cant see this one.
Last journey, which was fortunately very short, my infotainment screen partially froze. It switched beteeen menus after a wait but when you got a different view no changes could be made.
Could not switch AC on, no sat nav, and even the instrument cluster view change option was off.
Had to drive home with the windows wide open to keep the wind screen from misting up.
Left it for an hour and it now seems ok.
Its 0564 SW booked for upgrade on the 16th Feb.
Anyone else experienced this glitch? Is there a way out without the hour wait if it happens again.
Thanks Dave

Did you hold the “standby” button to the left of the screen for 15 seconds? That does a reset, the same as holding a button on the side of your smartphone.

The alternative would have been to stop and exit the car, lock it up, then unlock and try again.

Thanks Scott
I did stop lock and unlock but it was the same. Maybe it needs to be locked for a period of time!
I will try the power button reset if it does it again.
In 5 weeks its the only odd thing that its done.

Thanks Chris
Yes, mine was at the start of a journey. One other thing that happens a lot is that it won't display outside temprrature but I'm hoping little things get fixed on the SW update I get on Feb 16th.

We are on 0784 and had screen issues while trying to turn the lane assist off
Sat nav/radio and phone stopped working

Didn’t try the reset on the move as my wife not tfst confident to try whilst driving

Was ok after turn off and start next morning

The system seems to take a while to boot up when first starting though now!

My experience is that both 0564 and 0783 software take a while to boot up. If I start to drive before the boot-up has completed the Infotainment system seemed to become confused, with features having disappeared. So I now wait for 20-40 seconds before driving off and then the Infotainment system seems to behave as expected. 0783 does boot-up quicker than 0564, but still not exactly instantaneous.

I follow the tip from simonrg earlier in this thread.
I dont drive off until sat nav has loaded and its not frozen since so 20-30 seconds. Everything else around me is frozen however. Hopefully warmer next week. 😁

My infotainment system doesn't freeze but it has rebooted a couple of times. I can be driving along and it just goes black. After 30 seconds or so it restarts and I get the Welcome to VW screen. Annoying but not too much of a problem.

Good luck with your software update. Mine went in to VW Aylesbury last Monday (8th Feb) and is still there waiting for a new control unit from Germany after crashing its reboot.
