I just called VW west london and asked them for the next slot for 2.1 update. Almost fell off my chair when they told me mid May! Called Wimbledon and they said next week.
My experience with West London is utterly dreadful, they cancelled on my 3 times for the 2.0 update and now seem to be 2 months behind the next closest VW dealer for 2.1. Utterly shambolic...

re Versioning of releases
Most tech firms publish what the release version is, when it's coming and what it has been designed to address. Unless I'm missing something there is no resource for this information. VW needs to establish and run such a site.

re fault: Error: Drive System. Please visit workshop.
While I can drive it, I have no WeConnect, no Nav, no online services.
I have been told that by disconnecting the 12 volt supply, you can force a full system reset which can resolve some of these faults. But does it? Or might it make things worse. I hope there is nothing injurious about driving the car. No one seems able to tell me that either.

re. Class action.
My car is just a couple of months old and presenting problems that means the service team has to take it off the road for 3 days. I cannot get a replacement vehicle for that time and I feel that's just extremely poor customer service.

Has anyone got 2.1 yet and do we know what the software ID is?

I agree Rod with what you said on the SW and feeling left short when having to look for a DIY fix on a new car.
On a Class Action. I think you are unfortunate and the forum isn't brimming over with people who feel they want to take VW to task. A lot seemed to go ahead with an ID3 knowing the SW was going to be a bit of an issue. So there is a level of moans and groans but a Class Action requires a large group to hold your view.
I bought a new BMW Z4 some years ago that developed a roof problem. The dealer had if for 6 weeks through some of the best summer weather while I drove a series 1 courtesy car. I was furious but looking back I was just unlucky.
Time will tell if your view is correct but I hope for all ID3 owners you may just be more unfortunate with your car and dealership than average.
I hope you get your issues resolved.

All things to take up with your dealer, or to escalate to VW - if you're in the UK email executive.office@volkswagen.co.uk or if you financed through VWFS contact them as they have an "interest" in your car.

0564 was on the initial batch of cars
0570 was installed on my car in November 2020 (I think it was released towards the end of October 2020)
0783 (also known as 2.0) was released in December 2020 and installed on my car in January 2021
0792 (also known as 2.1) is the latest version released this week

I learned of 0792 being the 2.1 version number here: https://www.speakev.com/threads/id-3-bo ... st-2973191

Well I pick my car up on Friday but it will not have 2.1 on it.. What version is a bit of a mystery in fact. The dealer has told me 2.1 hasn't actually been released and a brief 'chat' with VW online the advisor said it wasn't scheduled yet and would probably be the end of the year !!! (you can imagine how the rest of the chat went).

So not much different to 0783 but with OTA.
Is it still the case that kph/mph issues will not be fixed by 2.1?
Am I wrong to be disappointed?

We have no idea yet exactly what it includes as a delta to 0783/2.0 - I've seen 2 photos showing 0792 in the last 24 hours, neither of those from the UK, and no comments on what the features and functions are.

I'm waiting for Chris from the Battery Life channel on YouTube to post once his is done (it goes to his dealer tomorrow morning).

I was told by VW that the kph/mph issue had been reported to the factory and they were investigating - that was mid-January.

My car is getting the 2.1 update today. I hadn't asked for it, but the car is in for something else (not software related) and when I took it in, the service guy said they had an alert to say they need to update the software to 2.1 and they would need it for 2 days. As I don't need a courtesy car he said they could do it immediately. I should have the car back with 2.1 on Friday.

Hello
New here.... my car was in today in VW Dundee. It’s in for the SOS failure. The service advisor said it was due the 2.1 update but they have come back and now said it’s not available until mid March . They have also had to keep my car as requires a new control unit to fix the fault. Said this part is on back order from VW Germany and could be weeks 😢

Have you reported that to the dealer as a fault?

I have found that giving them a list in advance is very useful for them, so ultimately very useful for me.

ours is booked in for the upgrade 15th March. Faults currently logged with dealer....

Sketchy locking/unlocking with key since v2.0 upgrade (keys have been checked for re programming)
Over speed warning
Intermittent stutter of tracks via CarPlay
Black/Blank Infotainment screen mainly invoked when moving from Rear View camera back to main menu
Passenger door unlatched on numerous occasions when car in motion and hits speed bump (open door warning triggered)

In terms of black / blank screen, if it is happening in the daytime, could be what i am seeing.

Several times since 2.0 upgrade, I have found that for some reason the brightness of the infotainment screen suddenly drops to zero, such that I thought the infotainment system had crashed, however blocking out light to the screen, I could see there was a very faint image then went to brightness and found set on lowest level, so I can set it back to medium.

I wonder if there is a clever swipe motion that decreases the brightness.

Booked in for the 15th March for the 2.1 update. Interestingly they described it as a “recall”.
