Unable to load connection status

Had the update to 2.1 with no problem about 2 weeks ago. Not driven the car much since but today when I got in the infotainment screen showed "loading connection status" message for about 30 second followed by "unable to load connection status" message. The phone strength bars on top right of screen are blank, so no phone signal to the car. This remains the same irrespective of driving through known strong signal areas. Dealership have asked for the car back to Investigate. Have to use the car for urgent trips for next two weeks so a bit worried that this problem may develope into something more serious.
Had anyone else had this issue and know of a fix?

This seems to be a common issue. I have the same issue today. In my experience, it generally resolves itself within 24 hours. Hopefully it will resolve itself for you also within the day.

I had the same this morning, but it was fine this afternoon and this evening.

Strange how this software "works"!
After two days not connecting, is now connected again this morning. Ah well, of it happens again in the next two weeks I'll still take it back for the dealership to play with.
Thanks for the replies.
On a positive note, my Zappi timed boost charge worked OK.

It has a dependency on the mobile network, if there’s no signal there’s no signal.

As I mentioned above, mine was offline yesterday morning but has been back online as normal every time since then.

I’ve now had this for a week. The display shows no signal. After nearly a minute it gives the cannot load connection status error.

For the first 10 days or so, there’s been no problem - the car has been in on-line mode quite happily. It’s a Tour model with 2.1 software.

Connecting to home Wi-Fi had not resolved the issue and I can’t seem to get the car to reconnect.

Any ideas?

I too have had this issue for a few days now in my Family Edition running 2.0 and built Week 2 2021. Apart from a few minor issues which resolved themselves fairly quickly I have had good service to date.

I read somewhere about pulling fuse 19 to sort this but the fuse box diagram available in the forums for the fuse box in the glove compartment does not match what I have so I cannot successfully identify fuse 19.

I expect when I get the upgrade to 2.1 this will resolve this but that will not happen for a while.

Any ideas anyone?

I found fuse 19 with no diagram, just a process of elimination from looking at the panel.

Drive somewhere else, do you get a signal on the car?

If so, it’s the network more than the car.

If it doesn’t get a signal anywhere, talk to your dealer.

Thanks for your reply, it's not a cellular problem, I was wondering if when finding fuse 19 did you count across the rows or down the columns. Don't suppose you remember the value (amperage) of the fuse?

It’s in the second column, about half-way down.

And just like that, it’s resolved itself.

Came to use the car this morning and it’s working.

Just picking this thread up again rather than doing a duplicate one..

I'm finding that in some semi-rural areas I'm not getting any infotainment or head up display, due to no signal (even though our mobiles work fine).

I'm finding it tough going to suddenly find myself having to guess what speed I'm doing - what if I get caught by a camera?

Any tips?! I'm pretty sure it's a connection issue but the other day it worked fine going northbound on a motorway but then driving southbound on the return journey there was no connection, which seems a bit mysterious..

Don't you have a speedometer in front of you as well? Why do you have to guess what speed you are doing if the HUD goes off?

Ah apologies - I don't mean the head up display (I don't have the head up display!) - I mean the small screen in front of the steering wheel. The speed isn't shown when there are connectivity issues..

I'm on my third bout of this error. the first two lasted a day or so, then I get into the car in the morning and it loads instantly. No fuse pulling and no resets. This time I'm on about day 5 having just driven from London into Kent and back. The car drives perfectly, but the irritation is the synchronisation with the app. Does anyone know why this happens? Is there a problem with the eSim software? It's definitely not the cell network signal unless there's an outage across the whole south east of England.

Greetings from Italy. Same problem with my ID.3 for two days. I hope it resolves itself.

Just resurrecting this thread again after a bit more experience with the car.
I live in a suburban area and driving in a small city and rural areas alike, On most journeys the navigation gets stuck, the car is unable to load connection status and the speedometer on the ID display in front of the steering wheel cuts out several times in a journey, along with various other bings and bongs telling me other features of the car have deactivated themselves such as the parking assist (even though I'm driving the car at 70mph not parking!). I've tried online and offline mode and the thing that really stresses me out, the speedometer not working, happens in both modes. The car has the 2.1 update.
I feel the problems are bad enough to go to the dealership but as a new driver (this is my first car) I don't know if this is a common problem or whether people have put up with these irritations or have fixed them themselves. Help!!

I wouldn’t put up with that, it’s not normal behaviour. List all the faults with your dealer and get it booked in.
