I've noticed that when I unlock and enter my car, the footbrake pedal does a little dance, moving down and back up again. At least I think that's what it's doing, it might do other stuff before I notice it.

Is this normal, do all ID.3s do it?

Thank you Scott, trust you to have the answer - short but succinct.

Do you know what the car is doing? Perhaps checking its functions before setting off, like the headlights rising, lowering, swinging left and right? I guess if the complex EV brake pedal response system (regen and friction collaboration) were to be on the blink that could be pretty disastrous so best to check each time...

I assume it’s some sort of initialisation/calibration, same sort of thing as when you press the pedal for the first time and feel it move - but that’s a guess.

I wondered whether it was the handbrake releasing and switching to Auto Hold?
