For those who don't know, Octopus have an Octopus Juice card (https://octopus.energy/electric-juice-network/) that gives access to a bunch of charger networks and allows you to have any charges sent to just one bill which, if you wish, can be your Octopus Energy account.

The big network currently (pun intended) missing is InstaVolt so, if you're interested in the card and would want to encourage InstaVolt to join, their email address is info@instavolt.co.uk

I have signed up. Looks promising having just one card and not multiple apps / cards. Ironic Ionity is one of the partners, I still have not managed to use any of my free credit yet.

On a related note if you did get to an Ionity charger and you do not have a 1st edition with credit, best not to use Electric Juice @ 66p/kwh, but sign up for the We Charge Go plan which has the 45p/kwh rate — apparently the We Charge Go plan available via the We Connect ID App is free for the first 12 months with an ID.3. After 12 months you would have to pay the monthly fee but you don't automatically roll onto it, it is still opt in.

Why would you want instavolt to be part of it? They just accept contactless payments, which in my opinion all this app nonsense should be scrapped and just use contactless cards.

Two reasons:

- for the convenience of putting all of my charging costs into one place (my Octopus account)

- to take advantage of the cashback I get in my bank account for energy purchases. If the car charging goes into my Octopus account I get the cashback. If it goes on to my credit card I don't.

They're probably a bit busy correcting their VAT payments to worry about this at the moment...
