Flashing red lights on remote
Just the remote looking for the car or letting the car know it’s there, goes to sleep pretty quickly.

The key contains an Ultra-Wide-Band (UWB) transducer, and a motion sensor. When the key moves, it tries to talk to the car to establish its position relative to the car. If you put the key down, once it's been stationary for a little while it stops 'talking' and the red tell-tale stops blinking. Of course if you have yours in a drawer, the act of opening the drawer will be enough to start the key chattering.

The UWB technology is a major advance and should prevent high tech thieves from replicating the key's signals and stealing the car.
