1st edition vs. current tiers

Hello from Crete everyone,

after thorough investigation I have decided to buy an id3 (mainly because of easiest service availability) vs. Tesla 3 (almost the same price!).
The choice is to wait about 4-5 months for Business tier or to take a ready-to-sell car (almost the same config) in 1st Plus version (made in Jan.2021 but never used, i suppose it was used as test-drive car)

The question is - as Business and 1st Plus are exactly the same tiers - what disadvantage has 1st Plus in terms of reliability? Are there any bugs which has been fixed in newer versions?
SW is the same version. The dealer has no knoledge about hardware. Maybe somebody has some thoughts?

I'm not aware of any hardware changes made after the 1st Edition. All the problems have been related to software as far as I know. My 1st Edition has no hardware issues, and since its 2.1 software update it now has no software issues either. I'm very happy with the car.

I doubt that a 1st Plus will have been manufactured in January - most of them were made prior to the September 2020 launch.

If there is any mileage on it (other than delivery miles) it will probably either have been used as a demo car or even rejected by it's initial owner - the paperwork should give you the details, in the UK we have the term 'registered keeper".

The 1st Plus car will have dual-zone climate and 19" Andoya alloy wheels, the Business will not - assuming the specs in Crete are the same as the UK, we can't order a Business spec now though as VW UK no longer offer it.

If the dual-zone climate and alloy wheels are must-haves for you, the 1st Plus would be the choice so long as it's not been used - otherwise you know for sure that the Business will be built for you.

Scott, i meant the same config costs the same. 19" wheels are needed as they are run-flat and there is no spare (first stone at the road and you might stuck somewhere in the mountains waiting for the road assistance with no cellular around)), double climate is not so necessary but OK for sure

By VIN (as dealer told me) it is made in Jan and it is definitely 1st Plus. The only car available in Greece with white steering wheel (essential with this sun)

OK. I see, so, if there is no mileage it is worth to take it. Clear, thanks

The configs are different, the alloys and the climate control are the most obvious ways.

I'm surprised a 1st Plus was built in January, that might be specific to LHD markets or certain countries as I've not heard of any being available in the UK as a brand new car other than those which were pre-registered with dealers towards the end of 2020.

Different countries have different models and specs, as I mentioned we in the UK can no longer order a Business - another example would be that we ONLY had the option of a 1st Plus (no 1st Pro or 1st Max like other countries had)
