Getting a Car Insurance quote

I was trying to get an idea of the cost of insurance a couple of weeks ago, without the reg no of course, and most of the companies still don't list the ID3 on their website. I did get a quote from my current insurer (Direct Line) to update from my Golf - they offered to update the policy for an extra 32% on top of the current premium

I have also this week called Volkswagen insurance (www.insurewithvolkswagen.co.uk/car-insurance) and received a quote that's much less than my current premium - about 55% of what I'm paying DL - it looks like a good deal. (They also don't have the model on the website, I had to phone them)

(I'm not posting actual prices, as the amount will depend on your age, location, and other personal circumstances)

Similar experience for me. I was very pleasantly surprised at the premium quoted by VW insurance. Half some other companies.
I did think it somewhat ironic that not only did their website not include the ID.3 in the dropdown list of cars. The agent I spoke to had never heard of the car!

Aviva didn’t increase our insurance from the Tiguan to the ID however they did make take the excess from £250 to £600 (apparently standard excess with all EV at Aviva)

When I purchased my id3 last month I was given an insurance quote at very reasonable price, Alas this turned out to be completely meaningless as today when I phoned VW insurance services they had no record of the insurance quote ref number as given by the dealership and gave me another insurance quote for 27% more! Underhanded trickery in extreme.
I now have road insurance with LV, a specialist EV insurance co who did not have the id3 as a listed option and insisted on calling it an E golf albeit with my correct id3 registration number.

I'm also with LV and the insurance documents I received from them in mid October all show "VW ID.3 1ST EDITION". I would get it corrected if I were you as you may have difficulty later if you need the insurance.

Same here with my LV. Also if you have a second car with them, the price drops significantly
