Just tried to use a Polar Chargemaster point (now owned by BP), but the 13A cable I bought from VW is too fat to allow the flap to shut over the 3 pin socket... so I couldn't get a charge. Anyone else found this issue?

So you're using a 13A granny charger at a public charging point rather than the type 2 lead the car could've come with?
Why would you do that? You'll get faster charging speeds with the type 2 leads.

Was this at a public charger or home?
Did you use the fat cable that has a Type 2 plug on either end?
