Great to see you are enjoying the car, yes we have had some strange comments about owning an EV as well.
'Do you need to charge it every night?' 'Does it make a noise so people can hear it?' 'How far can you go without stopping?' 'Can you drive in the rain?' the last one was my favourite!
As we don't have home charging it really puzzles people how we can charge it. So much misinformation in the press.
Can you drive it in the rain. That's hilarious. I just got asked 10 mins ago how many miles I get. I have no answer to that because I've not fully charged it yet. Plus the fact it varies under different circumstances.
Some people will think it charges by magic
I know you couldn't make it up! I also had someone pointing out the article about the weight of Ev's cars in public multi story car parks.
I did point out that the SUV they own is a lot heavier than my car ......
As I said the media has a lot to answer for ....
Not heard that one before. Were they expecting the multi story to collapse
Yeah, people need to educate themselves when it comes to evs. To many conflicting stories in the media. I, personally am really happy I switched to full ev after driving a plugin hybrid for 4 and half years. I would recommend it if it fits the person's needs.

I'm really enjoying the car, still learning it though. Not had any problems at all apart from a noise now and again that sounds like a small stone hitting the window.
Loads of people have commented on the car because they've never seen an id3 before no surprise there.
I’ve had the “ Is that one of those electric things ? “ then they looked inside “ here it’s quite nice isn’t it ? “ The amount of ignorance that still exists around EV’s amuses me, not all EV’s are Citroen Ami’s
I love the thing, either I’m exceptionally lucky or just don’t care but the infotainment side of things was effortless, built in sat nav worked faultlessly including telling me that a road was closed due to accident, we connect connected right away everything came online, set up we charge and enabled plug and charge then drove to Perth to try it
Citroen ami haha I've had the "so it doesn't take any petrol at all?" These Airdrieonians are a different breed mate
Same, not had any issue with the infotainment system at all. The heads up display is excellent. I've had the road works warning etc, it's really good. Well chuffed with it. I haven't set we charge..or at least I don't think I have. I'm just charging at home.
Got youtube working on it for when I'm sitting around waiting at the school etc. Pretty handy.
Reading all the horror stories on here before I got the car was making me bricking it but the car has been faultless.
Not going to lie I was starting to get a little worried about the Infotainment side of things, it’s day 3 and I’m disappointed I can’t moan about anything it just works, travel assist is my new best friend and the sound system is actually half decent having the extra speakers, ok it’s not quite the Dynaudio the Passat has but I’m happy with it.
Plug and charge at IONITY is just lovely, it was always something about the Tesla that appealed to me, plug in - charge - unplug, I just need IONITY opened in Fort William and I’ll be like a dog with two tails.

Charging at home makes it ridiculously cheap to cover all my day to day, we charge plus makes my longer days out still cheaper than ICE for me and I’ll use enough kWh’s a month to make the £12.99 fee worth it.
I do love people only focusing on EV’s when they talk about weights of new cars etc, I just use the “ so tell me, how much heavier is a 2023 petrol mini than a 2000 mini ? “ - silence

Long may the lack of having to moan continue i find the sound system leaps ahead of what I had in the outander phev.
That's exactly what I'd be looking for on longer journeys. Just plug and play. Just keep pestering IONITY to open in fort William...keep at them like a rabid dog haha

Well my wait is almost over, received an update today advising that my family pro is at the dealership awaiting registration and delivery slots to my house
Biggest wait recently was the 6 week delay at Emden whilst VW scramble boats for the VAG backlog.

ID3 Max Moonstone & Bike rack - Order #31554***
Week 45 22 est. Then 2023 wk 17 and then 2023 wk 14 now (may 23) it's here!
Hypervolt & 6.4k solar with 10k battery
Still waiting for my week 9 status 20 if that counts, stuck at the factory still by all accounts!
ID.3 Tour Pro S - Glacier White
Ordered circa Sept 21 by Plan Car Leasing
Build week - Unknown, advised March 23 delivery
Order Number - 31401131 - Changed to 31401162
Definitely seems to be bigger delays getting cars to Tyne than Grimsby.
my wk11 build came into tyne on the 27th April, I picked it up yesterday. it had sat in Emden for just over 6 weeks prior
Thanks both - I'd forgotten about Tyne, thought it was just Grimsby and Sheerness. They have told me I'll get it at the start of next month but hopefully it will be a bit quicker.
No real update from me other than they've confirmed in writing that the car is at status 40 and at the UK port, but due to delays at the port they can't give me an estimated delivery date.
Week 03 build from a November 2021 order.
My current MOT expires in July so hoping to have received it by then so I can sell my current car before then.

Bah lol. Is anyone else waiting for their “week 7 status 20” or just me now ;(
I know a few have cancelled and walked away… 14 weeks in build is a proper piss take.
Awaiting news of my tour ordered aug 21.
Still waiting for our week 9 build which was ordered 15/08/2021, been sitting at status 20 now for months.
Been onto VW UK again and just get the standard answer.

Well, after what seems like a heck of a chaotic journey, like most who ordered in late 2021/early 2022, i'm pleased to say i've finally taken delivery of my ID.3 Max Pro Performance! So far i've only done the short drive back from the dealer, but so far i'm really impressed with everything the car has. Here's to many happy miles ahead and for those still waiting on their car to arrive, i'm sure it'll be worth the wait if you're able to stick it out to delivery!
