Just wondering if anyone has investigated getting an extended warranty for their ID.3 and if so what the costs are looking like. Thanks

Same here. I think with VW you can't purchase the extended warranty until the manufacture's warranty has run out? I can't get a quote as I've got my MOT outstanding on my service plan.

I have now spoken with my dealer and he is saying they can't give me a price until 30 days before my warranty ( and 3 year lease) expire.
Not ideal as if I wait until then and I don't like the price they quote there won't be time to order and receive a new ID.3 instead of keeping my current one longer.

Might be worth posting the Q on the ID Facebook forum - as many European countries only get a 2 year warranty…

i just got an almost 3 year old ID.3 - it came with 2 years warranty and they offered a 3rd year for £699 i think it was. (VW used approved) not a direct price comparison as that would cover year 6 so i assume price goes up.

Thanks for the above
I think most of us keeping beyond the 3 year will be looking at extending as cost of repairs is likely to be eye watering but will interesting to see what it actually covers!
Future updates and life expectancy of control modules is an unknown and we have all seen a requirement to replace a few already !
Also ours will be very close to exceeding the 60k mileage limit before the 3 year point!

@Lammy were you offered a warranty for £699 per year? That's quite steep.

I have just received an email from VW to say mine runs out in September and there are options available but no links to any. Saw on VW website about a plan called ‘All in’ but doesn’t include EVs🙄. But did link to https://www.insurewithvolkswagen.co.uk/ ... d-warranty - my quote with no excess is £241 a year

From the UK owner's Facebook group yesterday - one of the admins reported he had received this and the cost was a little over £200 per year for all component cover (depending on excess).

He also gave a link to the cover booklet, of this works:

the £699 was for 1 year, but like i say that was the year after the extra 2 i got with it so the car would be 6 years old by then.

it did think it seemed alot!

Did you have to go looking for that, or did VW contact you about it?
Running along side the warranty, have you been asked to pay to keep any of the infotainment functions? I read somewhere that somebody paid something like £55 to keep the charging schedule function. (and maybe some others, I can’t remember).

I looked online. My manufacturer’s warranty doesn’t expire until the middle of September. The new one kicks in then. So can’t answer about the charging schedule function. I rarely use that feature anyway.
