We were supposed to collect our new ID3 on Friday but we got a call to say there was a problem with one of the door seals that made the car very noisy so collection was delayed until today.

Today the part still hasn’t arrived so we MIGHT be able to collect tomorrow.

Are ID3 parts always so hard to get hold of?

When they have to come from Germany...

So is tomorrow a bit over ambitious? After that I can’t collect it until Friday and I really want it now!

Why?

At least they identified the problem in advance - better than handing the car over regardless and leaving it to the owner to spot, complain, then have to be resolved later?

MIne needed a new glass sunroof and that only took a week, I understand most of that was waiting for VW to sort out the warranty process. So it seems parts are available.

We collected this afternoon so delayed by 5 days but at least we have it.

Dealer gave some interesting insights today - up to a year lead time on cars and 80% of sales are ID3/4. We could sell our car tomorrow for several thousand more than we paid today as demand is so strong!

To be honest it’s great the dealer paid the attention to get this done before you took the car. Would have been a pain to take it in later
