Problem is they cannot routinely refer to things expecting everyone with no knowledge to understand.
The paperwork says 62kWh, the insurer now says they can only do the 58kWh as there is no 62kWh on the system.

So frustrating.

The insurer shouldn't need the battery capacity figure if they have the model name. If it's a Pro (as opposed to a Pro S) that defines the battery size. But any ID3 called either a 58 or a 62 is actually the same thing.
Unfortunately misquoting of gross vs net battery capacity is a thing for all EVs, some manufacturers aren't even open about which they are talking about. You will often see the wrong number being used, it's not a VW thing.

Tesla didn't quote it at all for the model 3, though we can guess its about 60kwh on the basic and 70 on the performance they have never officially stated it.

I received an email this morning from Plan saying my vehicle has arrived in the UK. Currently awaiting finance agreements which are delayed (c. 1-2 days) from VW Finance's end due to an "internal system error"... not surprising at all!

My car arrived today but it was a bit of a carry on. I have the driver verbal permission to allow my wife with the same surname, ID and proof of address to accept the car from OUR address. Plan Car Leasing wouldn’t accept this and sent the driver back from the train station and sent me an email saying I needed to confirm my wife’s name, send her ID and say I am happy for her to accept the car and if it wasn’t done by 12 then the driver would take the car back and I would be charged for failed delivery.

I didn’t see the email until after this (no attempt was made by phone) until after this but was able to send the ID and permission over.

The driver, who was sat in the car had put the passenger side window down to speak to my wife who was in and out of the house as she was on a works meeting. They finally received my email and the driver was able to leave the car with us but was unable to get the window back up - I have watched the doorbell footage of him trying with the fob several times. Anyway, my 7 year old son answered the door and the driver gave the keys to my son and did one! My wife came out 10 minutes later to discover the window open and attempted to close it to no avail. She was trying various things for 4 hours, spoke to me, I spoke to the driver who played dumb. She continued until I arrived home and tried for another couple of hours. In the end, VW Assist were called and removed the door card to test it and it is a faulty module.

Fair to day I am a little underwhelmed by the whole expedience.

Sounds like a hell of a carry on!

Was the car just delivered by being driven to you?
I kind of assumed that they would be delivered on a transporter.

We got the paperwork for our second Max Pro today.
Different monthly figure to the first but the up front payment is exactly the same as the first £2650+vat.

Very strange!

Yes it was driven from rugby which is about 120 miles - doesn’t really bother me. Are your monthlies cheaper? Mines were cheaper by £40!

Rugby about 350 miles away from us up here!

Yes, our original quote for the Tour Pro was £2831.16 & £235.93 (switched to Max Pro)

Now the first one is £2650 + £176.90 where the second one is same up front but £202.13

Not sure If I’m expecting my tour deal to change, mine was on their £360p/m with just the £1200 fee upfront, 3 years 8k a year, that’s what I’ll be expecting anyway, or less is fine! 🤣

I would be surprised if it isn’t cheaper! Mine was a 1+47 at £331.29 + £1200 admin fee.

Managed to get a small amount of info via VW chat after a second attempt, it seems my week 9 build isn’t awaiting ship but awaiting semi conductors according to the agent!

I guess I shouldn’t be expecting it anytime soon, I said does that sound like it’s still at status 20 and he said that sounds correct? Not really a confirmation but hey?! Considering the last I was told was it was going through it’s final checks, I actually have no idea what’s going on which seems like I’m very much aligned with VW!

Finance agreement approved today, and delivery of my ID.3 scheduled in 2 weeks time.
After reading through RSCut86's post, I sincerely hope I have a better experience of the handover.

White one was delivered yesterday.

Delivered on transporter, no problems with handover.

Need to get some mats for them as none fitted as standard!

Hey @marknorton1. I think you and I are both waiting on wk9 Tours. I tried contacting VW Customer Services via their chat today but they said they've no access to data showing when cars are being built and that only the Dealers get this info - which I don't believe for a second given I've had updates before from them. Useless!

I spoke to Luke at Plan and he's offered up e.o.May but caveats that by saying he hopes it will be sooner (well, so do I!). I've gone back and asked for more detail on whether it's even been built or is waiting for / on a ship. It really is hopeless that no-one, not even VW themselves, can provide the info. So much for Germanic precision!

Yeah does look like we’re in the same boat (or not as it appears! 🤣) it took me two attempts to get any info on the vw chat yesterday, it seems they are programmed not to help people like us currently, which is what I said to the second person who promptly went away to speak to another department and got me a little vague info but essentially said awaiting semi-conductors! Lord knows when we will see them but wouldn’t be surprised if people start getting the facelift before ours are delivered!

Nothing in the car to deal with a flat tyre!

I’m hoping that at the very least my tour will have airstop tyres if that’s there name, got to say I’d much rather run flats as per my current BMW but don’t think it’s something that can be fitted retrospectively on an iD3.

It will have. 19" tyres on ID3 are always airstops.
The problem area is the 18" tyres which aren't. For whatever reason they still decided to remove the tyre repair kit from spec.
