In case anyone’s not seen this - apparently these are being replaced FOC by Vw as there is an issue with the inner sidewall splitting and failing. Seen a few FB pics of this in the last year. Good that VW have reacted at last…

*im 90% sure it’s the 19” Bridgestones not the 18”…

Car back from dealer with 4 new Continental Eco Contact 6 tyres installed. Obviously Goodyear not flavour of the month with VW.

Is it just the 19” tyres being replaced? I have 18” Goodyear tyres and not sure whether I should ring VW to get them replaced! Thanks

My Goodyear 215/50R 19 T tyres were replaced by the dealer on Monday with continental tyres as part of the recall, very quick service.

Hi guys, thanks for posting this.

Checked my tyres tonight, picture says a 1000 words.

Checked my VIN on VW Recall register and its not recognised.

If you were local I'd buy you a pint. Might have just saved a horrendous bank holiday weekend accident? Although accident implies no one at fault. VW will be getting both barells tomorrow!

Please change topic header if you can?

Wow that is shocking, lucky you checked. It prompted me to double check mine 18" Bridgestones even though not on the recall. They were fine btw

Cheers! Thanks for that, spoke to VW today. It's not a safety recall, otherwise DVLA would have contacted us... Earliest time to get into dealer is 15th June, we can however get tyres changed at own expense.. Good old VW customer service at its finest !
