My 2020 ID.3 has a bad dent and cracked plastic top part of the hood. Took it to a body repair shop, but they think it's better to swap out the complete hood. Checked with VW and they have quite hefty prices for a primed hood and the plastic cover.

After seeing some images of the facelifted ID.3 I noticed that the new hood doesn't have the black plastic part. I never liked this design anyway, so now I'm wondering if anybody knows if the facelifted hood would fit a non-facelifted car. If I'm paying big money for a repair I might as well improve the looks...

I'm guessing that now the bonnet is full length the hinges will sit in a different position. To be honest I don't know how the prefacelift bonnet opens so I could be talking rubbish !

Edit, I'm talking rubbish, just seen that the original bonnet actually does hing from the rear so there is a good chance that the new bonnet will fit the original car.
