Anyone used other garages like Kwikfit who are servicing ID3s now to service their car?
Just think VW is too expensive for the kind of service they do on ID3.

Hi
Just bought extended warranty from VW. would it not effect warranty , if serviced any other than VW.

You need to ensure an independent has the correct equipment to reset the service indicator. It's secured on the ID.3 (and others no doubt). It can't be done retrospectively by VW or using something like OBDEleven either.

It's doesn't affect warranty,did it with my kia eniro,would be illegal to that .

For the ID3 'Service' also means software updates. So sounds a bit risky to me.

One of the obligations listed on the Extended Warranty document is:
"You must make sure your vehicle is serviced in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations".
So it appears they're not tying you down to VW for servicing, but if they could show that the other garage hadn't done everything in accordance with the service schedule, they could probably wriggle out of the agreement.

Like every non-VW workshop I approached locally, Kwik-Fit wouldn't touch the car. With luck, the situation will be different for its second service in 2025!

MoT will not be a problem - even the local small garage is happy to do that.
