BLIS Blind Spot Information System
Does anyone out there have this safety system fitted on their ID3?
I had an ID3 Family Pro Performance from new in October 2022 and it was not installed nor was it a stand alone option, I traded the ID3 in against a ID4 GTX in June this year which the dealer had listed as having BLIS installed, it does not have it. They are now selling my ID3 with BLIS as standard equipment. Initially when I realised the GTX did not have BLIS I took it up with the dealer who claimed it was never advertised with BLIS and it is not standard equipment, unfortunately for them I had a copy of the initial advert from the VW website listing it (and the tyre repair outfit which is not there either), now VW Customer Service are involved and after 3 weeks they cannot tell me whether BLIS should or should not be fitted on the GTX, not a good reflection on the ability of a global car manufacturer to know what they are fitting to cars. I am still waiting for a definitive answer as to whether my car should have it, what should help me is all the other GTX models listed on the VW website with BLIS installed as either standard equipment or under miscellaneous equipment. VW claim that they cannot retro fit BLIS to my car but the dealer seems to have managed to fit it to my old ID3!
A trawl of the other used ID3 models on the website lists a lot of them having BLIS fitted, VWCS know that the GTX models listed are being advertised with BLIS when they probably have not but do not care. One listing for a GTX showed it as having a rev counter so accuracy is not something that VW seem to care much about nor do anything to rectify.
So if you are the lookout for a replacement ID3 or ID4 and it has BLIS listed as standard equipment, ask the question of the dealer because "cut and paste" seems to be the order of the day when it comes to advertising but if anyone has got BLIS on their car, please let me know.
thanks

Yes that is it, so within your Assist set up you have the option to disable it?

My ID4 Max has it (not our ID3). For ID4 there was a GTX Max spec that has more toys than the standard GTX - maybe it came on that? I think that was the case for travel assist and they usually go together. Do you have TA?
I am pretty sure you can turn it off, although I haven't done so.
My Max (built late 2021) is missing both a heat pump and the sports pack plus with DCC, which I have seen brochures saying it should have. However the specification listed for it on the myvolkswagen website is correct. I think if buying used, particularly cars built in 2021 when there was the chip shortage, people really need to check specific cars have the bits they want. For me that was mainly travel assist, HUD and the nicer seats, all of which are present along with some other toys. I was a bit disappointed to be missing the heat pump and DCC but ultimately when buying used I think I'm buying it as I find it (they are minor things for me.)

ID.3 Family Pro Performance (Jan 22). Also an ID.4 Max. Ohme Home Pro charger.
Mine was built in July 2023, got lane assist with the parking mode and HUD although that was not listed in the spec. My Volkswagen has BLIS listed as does the in car digital manual which uses the VIN to personalise the content but it is not there. I cannot find out whether it was missed off my car or is wrongly listed as standard on all the adverts.sidehaas wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2024 1:32 pm My ID4 Max has it (not our ID3). Didn't have BLIS on my car, but noticed the amber warning lights on the door mirrors starting coming on after the recent 2.4 to 3.7 upgrade, had to look it up to figure out what they were, handy feature.
Just on a side note, def getting a little more range post upgrade, or another way of saying the GOM doesn't run down as fast as it used to (if that makes sense).

My ID.3 Tour (December 2021) has got BLIS. I find it quite useful so I haven't looked to see whether it can be switched off. I have turned down the brightness, though: it was set to full and I found it too distracting.
My Pro is meant to have the comfort seats according to all the details and I’ve even got the factory document describing this. However, its not possible to have just the comfort seats without the full interior pack on this model and I’ve seen various other Pros advertised on AT with the same discrepancy. Feels like it’s all stemming from the incorrect source info at VW
Not sure what you mean by Comfort seats. The comfort pack is just the standard seats. You always needed the interior pack plus for the fancier seats. They are called ergoActive seats.Fry wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2024 6:51 am My Pro is meant to have the comfort seats according to all the details and I’ve even got the factory document describing this. Yep, it's quite confusing and I was probably better to have said Art Velour seats. This is what is on the actual spec for my delivered car: "Upholstery - Comfort Seat - Art Velour Eco: Dark Dusty Grey". What I actually have has multiple names too, Taia / Grey Melange.sidehaas wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2024 7:30 amNot sure what you mean by Comfort seats. The comfort pack is just the standard seats. This - and issues I've had in the past - mean that whenever I buy a vehicle new or used, I have a polite exchange of emails with the dealership along the lines of (but in a friendlier tone) "the brochure/price list/configurator cautions that it might contain errors or omissions and that the dealership is the ultimate repository of all spec knowledge (pause for laughter here) so I need to ask you if indeed there are any errors. The contract between us is that you supply an item as described, so if you fail to tell me of any changes in spec from the information I've relied on, I have the right to reject the vehicle as soon as I discover the error/omission"
The normal response is "we are not aware of any errors in the published spec" or similar, although during the Great Chip Shortage we all know that some cars were offered for sale with options missing - but at least declared as such AFAIK and price adjusted accordingly
Luckily our pre-reg id3 max (built June 2021) was entirely as described in the price list/brochure at that time, although the actual salesperson and the whole handover was about as unpleasant as it gets (because in the 2 months between ordering and taking delivery, the used price had increased by at least £3k.....result! - for us)
